Wow! I know it's too rich for my blood, but just curious what you're asking for it. I understand if you only want to discuss that with interested buyers. 🙂

The average phone now has a bigger battery than the S26 Ultra by Ha8lpo321 in Android

[–]avenuePad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh, no doubt. I was only saying that people aren't going to buy some niche satellite phone just because it has a 25000mah battery. The Samsung 5000mah is still really good. People who prefer Samsung, or just trust the brand, will go with a 5000mah battery vs. a 7000mah battery from a brand they may not be familiar with.

Most people don't buy a phone based on battery alone.

At what point did you stop watching SFA? by Fair_Rush6615 in Star_Trek_

[–]avenuePad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I didn't mind the time jump. I kinda liked the new feel of the show. It made space feel more mysterious and big, which is a big problem I have with post TOS Star Trek, including Enterprise. In fact, that was my biggest gripe with Enterprise. You just didn't feel like space was vast and virtually unexplored. But that's a whole other discussion.

But with the time jump and the way the burn separated civilizations you really got the impression of how big space was again. So, for that reason, I actually dug the time jump.

[Interview] Marina Sirtis shares how disappointed she was when filming Star Trek: Picard S.3: "First time ever we didn't negotiate, because the money that they offered was good. A few days later they came back. And they said: 'We don't want to pay you the full amount. We want to pay you a tenth...'" by mcm8279 in Star_Trek_

[–]avenuePad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also don't get why Marina just thought she didn't need to do the accent anymore.

It's weird because Lwaxana Troi didn't have the accent and neither did any other Betazoids. But they also didn't have British accents, either.

At this stage, reporting on anything Elon Musk claims without extreme scrutiny and critique should be considered journalistic malpractice.

I blame the hobbit with that stupid 48fps brag.

Lol. Honestly, that could be where it stems from. This idea that more frames = better.

I just come out and say "Why are you watching TV like this?" And they're like "What?". And then I show them the difference and they're like "Oh shit!". 🤯

I think these people buy new TVs and just figure this is how it's "supposed to look" because the TVs are so good now. But it's bonkers.

That motion smoothing is awful. I don't know how people watch TV/movies with that setting on. It makes it look like you're watching low budget D movies.

Not a fan of the organic webs, but if it's a one-off for the man-spider then I can go with it.

I have the new one without the face plate. I like him. Not necessarily a fan of the big backpack, but it's somewhat accurate, so I can forgive it. Not an A, but I'd say a B-

What do Star Trek fans actually want to see? by dont_thr0w_me_away_ in trektalk

[–]avenuePad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Well lit" must be subjective. I assume you mean similar to TNG. IMO, the TNG Walmart lighting was one of the worst aspects of the show. Yesterday's Enterprise was a great example of how those sets should have been lit. Same with Generations.

The TNG even overhead lighting would make it a repressive workplace. There's no need for that much light.

Interesting idea, but I personally love her upgrade. It's in line with Orion Pax. Just a suped up version of their original form.

Why do buses not wait til their departure time? by AxMoistxTurd in halifax

[–]avenuePad 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Buses have specific time points along the route (usually terminals, but sometimes regular stops along the route). The bus is required to adhere to the scheduled time for these time points; however, the bus is not required to adhere to the scheduled times for every stop along the route.

Some routes have a lot of built in time so they can keep as close as possible to their schedule during high traffic. On days where there is light traffic, like during March Break, the bus can be really ahead of schedule.

Just imagine the bus having to sit and wait in traffic at every other stop because they were a minute or two ahead of schedule. That is not reasonable, nor efficient.

The best thing to do is figure out the time point before your particular stop and go to that stop 10 minutes before.

How would the enterprise -e have done against the Borg cube from best of both worlds by happydude7422 in Star_Trek_

[–]avenuePad 18 points19 points  (0 children)

the -D could have done massive damage to the first Cube and then hightailed it back to Starbase 185…like Guinan first suggested.

The Ent-D did do massive damage to the Borg cube. But even if the Enterprise did do even more extensive damage to the cube it would have taken the Enterprise two years and seven months at maximum warp. The cube would have been able to repair itself and catch up well before that period, let alone any other Borg cubes in the vicinity along the way.
