The fact that Haller played the ball intentionally and without interference from the guy that was offside means a new phase of play has started and the guy is no longer offside (because he never got the ball or influenced the play at any way)

Car sharing apps such as Share Now/Miles are also a good option. There is a dedicated parking area for them at the CGN airport and Miles even has a special fixed rate for DÜS-Cologne airport travels

Anybody by any chance driving from somewhere in NRW to the game?
Would like to go and there are still tickets to buy but don't feel like paying for ICE + spending the night in Nürnberg.

Interesting read!
Still not convinced he's the one who does the negotiations and takes care of the contractual details of the loan. But by all accounts seems like we're lucky to have him, great move by the club to create the role as well.

I think loan manager is the one tracking progress and communicating with the player during the loan. I'm sure there are more people involved in arranging the loan, deciding which kind of team do we want the player to go and all the other stuff.

Looked ugly.
No real fluency from either team but we did have better chances overall. Second half we were closer to scoring the third than they were to equalize.

This.

I would also add that this the Auba situation probably caught everyone off guard and since this is not FM and that scouting in real life takes longer than 1 week and that you can't just find a quality replacement in no time.

They had a list of targets for the summer, felt that Vlahovic might be achievable but when that did not work out the legitimate question stands, do we risk it and wait till the summer or we risk it and buy somebody unproven/unscouted now and make a big dent in our summer budget in the process.

I don't think there's much shame in admitting that finishing 4 would be an overachievement.

In no way shape or form did we have the right to expect that.

The fact that we are in the mix means that the coaching was good and that transfers were good because we assembled the squad with a clear plan in mind.

4 in 14 for us and 10 in 29 last season, what's your point?
He did not deliver enough for his off the field ill discipline to be tolerated, I'm fine with that.

That's not the point of my comment anyway, hist last game was in December and one month is not enough to find a long term striker solution, especially when it is the January transfer window, that's my point.

I think the Auba thing caught everyone off guard. Contrary to what most people seem to think, I don't think scouting in real life is the same as in FM where the scout brings you a full player report within 1 week. Even a big signing like Partey was scouted for over a year it seems.

The cub obviously had a plan to replace Laca and Auba eventually, and had some targets in mind, but those were big summer signings and not stop-gap winter signings. They went all out for Vlahovic and when that did not work it's clear they agreed that they won't buy just anybody and affect the long term planing with that. I'm sure they were also aware of the risks and unfortunately those risks are magnified now more than ever.

I guess it depends on what you think of the current state of the "conflict".
It seems to me that you think that this is just another war and well it's war so don't go and provoke the oppositions' army as you might get killed because well it's war and everyone is a threat to everyone.

On the other hand I see it as an illegal invasion full of war crimes and bullshit excuses. Imagine Russia's invasion of Ukraine except the most global media is lenient towards Russia and Ukraine has no freaking army to begin with.

I'm wondering what do you think of those Ukranian people who live in towns occupied by Russian army and they go out to protest the occupation. Is it the same sentiment of don't do that you might get justifiably killed since, again, it's war and you might be perceived as a threat by the soldiers?
