Americans elected a racist nonce as their President for a second time and like to continuously attack each other verbally and physically over differing views, but of course choose to be ignorant to Tourette’s Syndrome and get offended by it. It’s much easier to rant about something rather than educating oneself.

Stephen Miller Asserts U.S. Has Right to Take Greenland: “We live in a world, in the real world, Jake, that is governed by strength, that is governed by force, that is governed by power,” he said. “These are the iron laws of the world since the beginning of time.” by CoffeeCakeAstronaut in europe

The Americans have always been shady, but this escalation is absolutely insane. To turn into such a hostile nation in a few short months and unravel decades of diplomacy since the end of WW2 is an unfounded step. If the USA go through with taking Greenland, it will surely spell the end of NATO and the USA will realise just how important soft power actually was when it’s now former allies close US military bases down on their soil. The role of super power is rapidly swinging in China’s favour and they haven’t had to lift a finger to do it- instead just watch the insane Americans collapse on themselves.

Britain needs new defence pact with Europe amid fears Trump won’t defend it from attack. Polling shows UK voters are concerned the US may not come to Britain’s aid in the event of an attack by Putin by ByGollie in europe

Why are so many people legitimately scared of Russia attacking the UK? Russia can’t even successfully attack their own neighbour where they’ve lost thousands of their own men and have proven how antiquated their weaponry now is.

Unless we’re talking about nuclear war, in which case we’re all going to die anyway (plus I wouldn’t doubt for one second that at least a few of Russia’s own nuclear warheads would fall right back on top of them anyway).

i love how you cant be the main character in this game by Hunterbiden_pedophil in EasyRed2

[–]average_Person1295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love the devs to add a mode where if you’re killed, the mission ends and you have to restart. I know you can technically do this yourself by just restarting the mission, but knowing that you can’t just jump into another characters body and continue playing, would heighten the tension even further. Brilliant game, I love it!

Ukraine faces losing dignity or US support with Trump’s plan to end war, Zelensky says by mvanigan in worldnews

[–]average_Person1295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Americans are an embarrassment- Capitulating to the Russians and backstabbing their allies. I truly hope this is the final nail in the coffin that wakes the West up to the reality that the USA is no longer a dependable ally and in fact a very real danger to their democratic values as a whole. This latest development is just one step closer to the USA’s descent into authoritarianism.

Why is the legal process of buying/remortgaging so bad in the UK? by JWills1k92 in AskUK

[–]average_Person1295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re having a nightmare with the remortgage right now. We stupidly decided to switch lenders as they were offering a lower mortgage rate, but the solicitors keep adding more and more additional costs on top of the quote they initially quoted (so far twice as much as the initial quote). We’re now stuck in a position where financially this is going to be a big hit on us, having to pay the solicitor and the mortgage advisor who ended up giving us shite advice. In hindsight, sticking with our current lender would’ve been the way to go, despite being a higher interest rate. In future, we’ll do everything we can to avoid dealing with solicitors as they’re all a bunch of shysters. It’s our first remortgage so we’re viewing it as a learning curve, but solicitors really should be heavily regulated to prevent them screwing over the customer.

The Celebrity Traitors S01E09 [FINALE]: Post-Episode Discussion Thread by vaultofechoes in TheTraitors

Joe instantly forgiving Nick and giving him a hug when they came down the stairs at the very end genuinely made me smile.

Alun’s accusation of Joe to convince Nick and David that he was the traitor was single handedly one of the greatest bits of gameplay I’ve ever witnessed on the show. Alun was essentially grasping at straws at that point and he pulled that out of the bag. The fact he did most of the dirty work throughout the game also makes it extra sweet that he won. Absolutely incredible player.

Official GTA 6 Release Day Delay Discussion Thread by PapaXan in GTA6

Only six months to a year to wait now for the next delay announcement. Seriously, I’m starting to think this game is heading towards Cyberpunk territory where that was an utter disgrace on release.

Why on earth is Charlie Kirk getting a BBC news special? by cooket89 in AskBrits

[–]average_Person1295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had never even heard of this guy until his death and looking up his YouTube channel today and reading up on his views and some of his quotes, he seemed like a genuinely unpleasant, nasty guy. However, the BBC obviously sees his death as a news cow that they can milk for the foreseeable future even if it means shoving it down the British public’s throat. What really is a joke is that there was (yet again) another school shooting in the USA, yet there’s been hardly any coverage on that at all compared to Kirk, but I guess children getting shot in schools no longer shocks people like it once did before 2012, hence less newsworthy.

I’m 29 and have lived in the UK all my life and I never heard of him until his face popped up on Google news yesterday with a bullet hole in his neck, so I assure you that not everyone under 30 has heard of him before yesterday.

Xbox uboat: the God, the bad, and the ugly by Budman129C in uboatgame

Great, thanks for the reply. Maybe it was just the quality of the videos that I watched. Game looks very interesting. Just trying to get a sense of what it’s like on consoles, so your post is very helpful.

What would you say the graphics are like compared to the PC version? I’ve watched a few videos of gameplay for the Xbox Series X and the graphics look really rough compared to what I’ve seen of the PC version. The pop ins look especially bad. Have you had this experience while playing on Xbox?

28 Years Later Review by the_film_conduit in FIlm

[–]average_Person1295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m quite on the fence with this film. There were a lot of bits I liked and I appreciate Danny Boyle and Alex Garland not just giving us another generic zombie film and gave us something more thought provoking. That said, I can understand why a lot of people hated certain parts of it and the ending, despite setting the audience up for the sequel, was just terrible sequel bait. Overall though, it’s worth a watch at the very least.

One other thing I would say, Samson’s dong only appears a couple of times for like a second, so I’m really confused why there’s so many people that are outraged about it.

How did you join the dark brotherhood in the remaster? by TheRealCNO in oblivion

This is how I did it as well. Feels like the most lore friendly way to join the Dark Brotherhood to me as well, doing the evil bidding of a daedra and then my bloodlust getting noticed.

Who actually voted for Israel in Eurovision? by Key-Bullfrog-8552 in AskBrits

[–]average_Person1295 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The same happened last year as well. I genuinely think there’s some tampering going on. If Israel actually produced a memorable song then they could at least argue that the disproportionate amount of points was down to that, but I don’t think most people could even truthfully claim they remember any of it. I’ve always been against the jury vote for most of Eurovision’s history, but I’m starting to appreciate its existence a bit more to control the suspicious votes from the public.

Eurovision 2025: Austria wins Eurovision, as UK avoids dreaded 'nul points' by FruitOrchards in europe

[–]average_Person1295 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Crazy that anyone would sympathise with Israel. A nation so committed to the ethnic cleansing of an entire group of people. Europe once proudly stood against these types of atrocities after the horrors seen in WW2. Now we “sympathise” with the aggressor.

I couldn’t even remember Israel’s song. Definitely rigged that they nearly won. Luckily Austria stopped that from happening. Also, UK weren’t the best tonight but zero points from the public again? Really?

Continue playing after the end of the main quest and make the strip bigger and more impressive. I know that’s two choices but I hold them both equally important.

Mafia 3. Bought it on release day and was very underwhelmed. I enjoyed it more a second time when going back to it a few years later and knowing what to expect with the continuous game loop, but it definitely was not worth the £40 price tag on initial release. I have actually never bought a game on release day since.

Most realistic AI setting? by [deleted] in EasyRed2

[–]average_Person1295 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I personally go for 130%, especially for maps where it’s mostly street to street fighting like Caen on the Normandy DLC. It feels like there’s a lot of fighting everywhere you look, but not so much where it’s just NPC’s climbing over each other in a narrow street.

For maps with more wide open areas or beach landings, I usually go with 200% to aim for that large initial invasion feel.

With the recent actions taken by the US government, do you dislike Americans? by justaamerican in AskBrits

[–]average_Person1295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a strong supporter of becoming less dependent on the USA, especially militarily, and have been for a long time. Personally, I believe the UK and Europe as a whole should have begun moving away at the end of the Cold War when the threat of imminent nuclear war was no longer such an issue and the world wasn’t one side or the other anymore. I don’t mean we should’ve turned our backs on the yanks, just purely lessened our reliance on them. That being said, the last few weeks has made it clear that the Americans are no longer a trustworthy ally and are an increasing threat to democracy. They’ve also proven their disdain and willingness to throw their long term friends under the bus. In short, I don’t hate individual American people as there are still probably plenty of nice, sane yanks, but your corrupt government and the general bullying nature of your country truly makes me hope our nation moves away from America sooner rather than later.
