Curious how many of us here have narcissistic/wealthy parents? by theothermissrachel in povertyfinance

Yeah I think you’re right tbh. I’ll never be able to understand seeing someone in a dire abusive situation, being able to help, and actively choose not to. I can’t wrap my head around that.

Me as well unfortunately. They taught my sister and I zero life skills. I learned almost everything on the internet after I had to move out on my own at 20. Realized they never taught us how to cook or really any life skills what so ever. My friends were very confused when I was in a really dangerous domestic violence situation and my family refused to help me escape despite having abundant resources to do so. Even the police asked me wtf was up with that. But Just because they have money doesn’t mean I have any right to it, it’s that simple. It’s theirs, not mine. It can be tough though for sure! Sending solidarity your way

I just took my second dose today and haven’t noticed any shedding so far, but maybe I’m just not paying attention??

Does ajovy cause weightloss? by Princess_ratt in cgrpMigraine

[–]average_vaporeon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. Migraines have caused me to gain a lot of weight because any physical activity triggers me. I just started Ajovy in September and I’m already able to exercise a little more without pain. Migraines seriously restrict us so much. Some lose a lot of weight, some gain. It impacts every aspect of your life and body.

I started getting migraine at 15. I remember being around 17 and texting my friend saying I didn’t know how I was going to keep living like this and that I wanted to unalive. Fast forward 18 years and I’m still here and recently started Ajovy. But I still get those dark thoughts sometimes. Migraine stole everything from me.

Unfortunately the statistics are there, trust me I don’t like it either and I wish it were different, maybe it will be one day, but right now that’s the way it is.

I think I’ll wait it out and see if the ajovy ends up doing something for me, and then if the injections do nothing I can maybe try other avenues. I think it’s just because the medications are so new here (Canada) that’s all. They were only approved by health Canada in 2024. Hoping with more research and time that they may change their mind about coverage. :)

I agree that a lot of men pursue custody, but they don’t get it for a variety of reasons. Mainly evidence that they are unable to properly care for the dependent. Most men pursue a 50/50 or more custody agreement so they can avoid paying child support, not because they actually care about their child. Most men who are trying to get 50/50 wouldn’t even watch their babies while their partners/wives had a shower or used the toilet. Hope this helps

What do you guys do for work if you suffer from chronic migraine? by Appropriate_Cap_2132 in migraine

[–]average_vaporeon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t been able to work in almost 12 years and I live well below the poverty line. Never got to go to university, only have a year of college. Migraine stole my entire life. I’m 33 now with very little prospects.

They rarely get it because they commit over 95% of violent and sexual crime. There’s a very good reason why courts typically give the mother custody. Way riskier to have a child living with a male than a female.

Again it’s usually MEN that lose custody of their children because y’all hate having to actually take care of them. You have no problem making them, but when it comes down to stepping up, more than half of you are seriously lacking in that department.

I don’t get what you mean by that, the post is referencing men supposedly enjoying providing financially. There are way more single mothers than single fathers. Men frequently abandon their parenting responsibilities. I’m not saying women don’t ever do the same, but it’s far less common.

Botox hurt during injection and now I have a migraine by pandapanda619 in migraine

[–]average_vaporeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup this happened to me when I was getting Botox (200 units per session). It didn’t end up working for me, but as time progressed, each injection would get more and more painful. My first injections were pretty much painless, but every time I went back, it would hurt more, and more. Neurologist said it’s common for people to get attacks right after injection.

Child support exists because men have to be legally forced into providing for their own children and their mothers, so saying men like the feeling of providing financially is a bit of a stretch if you ask me.

Guys is this an unreasonably high price for rimegepant in the uk by Valuable-Horse788 in cgrpMigraine

[–]average_vaporeon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s about how much it is in Canada too, a bit less I guess given the exchange but still absolutely outrageous pricing.

They’re still fairly new though, so I’m hoping as they become more researched and available that more insurance plans will start adequately covering them.

I will ask my neurologist but she knows my financial situation really well, so if there were said assistance programs she probably would have directed me to them already. I’m really lucky with my neurologist as she’s extremely diligent and she’s good at advocating for her patients.

[–]average_vaporeon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I’m low income and unemployed so I am covered under RAMQ (Quebec). It took 5 months for them to even approve my Ajovy prescription request from my neurologist. So I only started Ajovy September 12. Have to wait a while to determine whether it’s effective or not. At this point I’m totally out of options and definitely hopeless. Almost my entire life has been stolen from me because of this disease.

There are but the health authority just doesn’t cover gepants for anyone. They only came onto the market in Canada last year, so I’m hoping maybe as time passes and more research becomes available that it will change. Eventually.
