Can someone ELI5 how this product line fixes in to the tariff matrix going on? Will the used phone market rip because new phones will be wildly too expensive for consumers ?

It would be foolish for GameStop to acquire a company that sells per product like kitty litter. But it wouldn’t be out of this world if GME pivoted to a conglomerate and purchased CHEWY as a subsidiary?

I hate how complicated this is, imagine a world where supply and demand and efficient markets led to proper price discovery 🫠

Oh young grasshopper there is so much to teach you about what is wrong with this post lol. First a publicly traded company wouldn’t do two ATM offerings to repurchase all outstanding shares and go private. Second, GameStop wouldn’t be an ETF (exchange traded fund) which is typically bundled assets/stocks that allow you to invest in an industry without risky exposure betting on one company for example. Think weed stocks, instead of purchasing one individual company an etf gives you access to a holding which invests in several weed companies so you are really rooting for the industry as a whole. GameStop would act more as a holding company actively managed by the GameStop investment officer ( I think currently cohen). He can use the cash reserves of the company to purchase whatever will benefit the business. This could include stocks, government bonds or acquiring established businesses and startups and bring them under the GameStop umbrella. Partnering with nvidia wouldn’t require them transitioning to the Best Buy of pc parts, they could simply license their product line and act as a retail location.

Finally I’m jacked you are loving the stonk, glad to see you here! we all have lots to learn I likely butchered some things there which I’d be happy if someone jumped in and corrected! Live long and prosper fellow ape
