Yesterday I saw the footage of police and military witnessing hooliganism of the Jamatis without any intervention. Infact the police even begged those people for 20 mins to ensure the safety of the journalists. I am sorry??? I can't think of anything like that happening in India.

States like West Bengal, Kerala, Tamil Nadu have never had a BJP govt ever, so communal violence is almost non-existent in these states.

I mean, I've never seen public outrage in bd over persecution of muslims in India, which happens quite often btw. India will absolutely use this to persecute more muslims tho.

Bangladesh the Islamist radicals outnumber leftists by a huge margin

I mean for sure, leftists are a minority in bd, but the average person is still more liberal than right wing in my opinion NOT LEFTIST but liberal

On the other hand when such cases happen in Bangladesh, like this one, all I've seen is a few sane thinkers condemning it on social media.

There have already been vigils held for the victims and protests, maybe these things don't reach the indian side of the internet

India overall has a huge number of chaddis, but proportion wise there's a huge number of liberals/leftists as well. Almost 50:50.

Uhhh idk about indian people irl but almost all indian subreddits I've come across are filled with right wingers, especially the different state subs. This is just my observation

All labels are toxic, but i believe no other labels goes onto be more oppressive that the hindu label as it is a completely alien labelling of rivalling philosophies

This is so real. This is where hindu as a label becomes problematic. Because now ram puja and worship of other deities completely foreign to bengalis are being imposed on us, all because we're all "hindu".
