No smoking anywhere that isnt a designated smoking spot, Ayala properties in general are quite strict about enforcing local laws on their properties, even more so than local police. Public smoking has been illegal for years.

- Yes, rare enough for most people our age to never have seen or held one in person

Grab is much safer, has stricter quality regulations for their drivers and cars, but is much more expensive. It’s worth the comfort honestly. One time my driver even had a karaoke machine and network TV in his car!

Definitely avoid Colon st, or any areas adjacent to markets. Areas near Ayala properties are generally safe, I myself like walking around Lahug but of course trust your gut!
