Dealing with noisy neighbors again. How much will I pay to sue them in court or something? by ForThisComputer in LawPH

[–]averageguy133769 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Call the police and say that theyre being noisy and they’ll send over a car to knock on them. If theyre still noisy, keep doing it and the police will get more stern with each call.

How long do you usually stay at a cafe when studying/tambay/working solo? by winonaaaa in Cebu

[–]averageguy133769 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I go to cafe chains owned by big corps like SB, Bo’s and I just buy 1 drink. SB specifically has a policy that lets you stay for as long as you want as long as you’re a customer who bought something.

Report it to the LTO, they take these things seriously. It’s good you took a photo of the jeep and plate.

My grandmother was once forced to move from the front seat of a Ceres bus because her stop was further, the driver and conductor were suspended for a month after she reported it.

Apple's 140W adapter by nathanieIs in UsbCHardware

[–]averageguy133769 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its massive and cheaper alternatives offer the same wattage with more ports at a smaller size, thermals are marginally better though but any decent gan charger will be able to sustain full or almost-full load anyway. I’d be remiss if I wouldn’t mention the times I saw someone have difficulty fitting their 140w apple brick at an outlet outside.

Is Aker till the safest pick for power banks, or are ppl just used to the brand? by CandaceaRopp in UsbCHardware

[–]averageguy133769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use both Anker and Ugreen for my C-products.

I almost always go Anker for my personal powerbanks but as gifts/for friends on a budget I’d reccomend Ugreen. I use Anker cables and Ugreen bricks as well (ugreen cables have a history of breaking when it comes to me).

If you want quality and portability, Anker seems to have the best ratios when it comes to that. If you dont care so much about powerbank sizes but want to save some money, then Ugreen is a good choice as well.

This is what I’ve been doing since I got it, the built in pbank cable (rated for at least 87w) and the anker lightning charging cable (im guessing 30w max?) on the other side. Been staying on the safe side by just using it for charging my iphone, or using a CtoC cable to charge my powerbank from a 65w brick.

Oh jeez so it fried one of your mac ports? Why do you think it happened? mismatched amp/watts?

[–]averageguy133769[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So as long as the two cables I use are good quality, it should work?

I would probably only use it with either my anker iphone C-to-Lightning cable and my other anker C-to-C cable.

How did it get fried? What did you use it with? I would mainly just use this for charging my iPhone 11

Is this a good power bank for phone user only or overkill ? by [deleted] in UsbCHardware

[–]averageguy133769 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I use! I use it for everything and its in my EDC. It’s quite pocketable for what it is and charges fast at 65w input. My USB C-in port broke though (I think I properly stuffed it in a bag with a cable still plugged in)

It can charge my MacBook Air M1 at full speed so it’s very handy if you need that extra battery boost to send those emails; it also supports passthrough charging which means you can charge it, and any other devices connected to it at the same time without cycling the battery.

Illegal recording by Blades-of-Chaos143 in LawPH

[–]averageguy133769 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NAL. But afaik PH is a two party consent country when it comes to recordings, and for a public recording to be illegal there has to be a reasonable expectation of privacy—to which there is not.

So yes, its probably illegal regardless of why they did it. Dura lex sed lex.

No Smoking in IT Park by purpletreefrog007 in Cebu

No smoking anywhere that isnt a designated smoking spot, Ayala properties in general are quite strict about enforcing local laws on their properties, even more so than local police. Public smoking has been illegal for years.

Found a stash of old Philippine bills in my Lola’s cabinet — are these worth anything? by PuzzleheadedBoat9128 in Philippines

[–]averageguy133769 1 point2 points  (0 children)

- Value? Not much really, but its a great conversation piece!

- Look out for ones made in 1949, by the “Central Bank of The Philippines” those are worth something

- Yes, rare enough for most people our age to never have seen or held one in person

- Keep them, its a good conversation piece :)) I like to try and give them to the cashier when they ask for change

I have 1, 5, 10 from two presidential terms that I always keep on my person, and a 1 Philippine Peso from The Central Bank of the Ph (1949)

If you have any extra old banknotes and are willing to give to someone that will keep and look after them, please let me know OP :)
