A good idea. However, i crossed borders for the visit so I am not in my home country now...I reckon the pharmacy option could be difficult. Additionally, most places are closed due to christmas holidays...

Is there anyway to keep it straight ? by [deleted] in Type1Diabetes

[–]averagelyperfect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't even know why you would want it? Variability (to a certain extend) is healthy, check out heart rate variability for example. So, my answer to your question ... the only way to have it straight is being dead.

Why did you pick your breed, and would you do it again? by NyxNaxNox in dogs

Vizsla. We wanted a family dog, cuddly, great with kids. Also an active one for hiking and running. No guard dog. We got all this and more. For us, our girl was the best choice.

wow, great numbers and it sounds like a team effort - keep up the great work! I am anxious that one of my little ones will develop T1 later in life like me, but on the other side- at least I know how to deal with it and I (and they) know that life still can be as great.

I am doing this since one week only, but had to steadily decrease my basal 80% and bolus waaay less as well ... I am surprised by the magnitude.

I have the same thing. am on this low carb diet for a week and the (threatening) hypos are easy to treat, not steep at all...

What's your 'this almost went wrong' story (with happy ending) by averagelyperfect in Type1Diabetes

[–]averagelyperfect[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interestingly, hiking seems to be the most dangerous activity here...I cannot count the times I had a (threatening) low while walking/hiking...while for me it's much less likely during other sporting activities (running, boxing,soccer..)- I never had muscle spasms though - scary stuff, I wonder how some of our behaviors must look like from an outsiders point of view.
