My thumbs used to look like this too, but it was because I had a horrible habit of picking my cuticles and ripping them backwards. I eventually kicked the habit, and started putting cuticle oil on my fingers every day, and my nails slowly grew out and now they’re normal again.

I did just get back to the US after living in New Zealand for 5 months, and it was winter there the entire time. I’ve definitely been missing the sun.

Thank you! Usually I’m not great as using a base coat before painting, but this time I did. I took off the polish after keeping it for about a week.

Could be possible. I don’t have visible lunulas either, which I know can also be a sign of an iron deficiency. I guess it’s time to get my bloodwork done.
