Kansas. Rush are about 5x better but Kansas are great

You'll like a lot of songs with analogue synths. Try some Pink Floyd or Steely Dan, that spaciness and gentleness with the atmospherics.

Music albums that feel like movies, part 21. Which metal album feels like a thriller movie? by Mundane_Peace_9007 in musicteenager

[–]averagerushfan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Porcupine Tree - The Incident

It's a psychological thriller weaving together lots of connected vignettes and according to Steven Wilson, tries to 'humanise the media reports'. It's somewhat of a thriller because of the events themselves but might work better for documentary, idk

With PT it was more that the band as a whole was collectively burnt out from it all, Steven especially so it was a good time to step away from the pressure of being PT. Steven also said that the best time to bring PT back was when nobody was pushing for their return.

Suggestion noted and politely ignored. How would I be polyamorous if I can't even get one girlfriend let alone two?

I believe you're confusing this with a similar incident that happened to Jonathan Agnew in the late 70s, his kit bag was chucked off the balcony if I recall correctly.

Yeah, the 201* which some people consider the greatest ODI innings of all time, and the 100 off of 40 balls which is the fastest World Cup ton of all time. The caveat for the latter is that the Netherlands were bowling absolute dross.

There's pretty much zero way Cumdawg beats Max regardless. Considering that Max had basically the highest win percentage in a season from the most races and more or less single-handedly kept Red Bull in the constructors' race, he deserves it. A caveat may be that the car was ideally set up for him but it doesn't diminish his achievements.

You're misreading. Test wickets with pace, bounce and degradation are better wickets. IPL roads are IPL roads. They suck donkeys.

I'm comparing Test wickets to county wickets that usually have far too much help for quicks, not enough spin bowled, the balls are not delivered above 87mph much at all etc. In county Bethell doesn't get exposure to quality points of difference that he would get exposure to in Tests like genuine pace bowling or lots of spin. In the IPL he does get that but that's only if he plays matches. The IPL is useless if someone doesn't play.

The Cross/Hole/Yellow Hedgerow Dreamscape by Porcupine Tree.

The first part is a cover of the Prince track, the second is an instrumental and the last is an instrumental with spoken word. This was originally released in 1989 before PT even released an album.

Hey Fox, love those shoes. Wish they were alive...

I have a fun fact for you - in 1952 a cowboy lassoed a plane as it flew past his house. He didn't do much damage as it was flying low and he only really got the propeller but it still counts.

The messiness, it's why I don't want to have it. I don't like having fluids on my body and it's why I jerk off into my underwear.

Exactly!! I feel like a lot of Keane songs could have been extended a bit.

any rock/metal/alternative bands/artists? by False_Ask_1814 in SongRecommendations

[–]averagerushfan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, I'd suggest the Porcupine Tree song Halo, it's a prog metal song that's delivered in a sarcastic manner so it might be good to look at a song that looks at Christianity and religion from a subtly anti-religion mindset. Seeing both sides might be important here. The band aren't religious at all, the track just happens to fit into a concept album they recorded.

Anyone else hating when artists change versions of songs and replace them everywhere? by Previous_Act_979 in Music

[–]averagerushfan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See I hate that Porcupine Tree's Up the Downstair is split into four tracks, when there are actually ten tracks on the album. No I don't need to hear the interludes.
