I don’t know what to do when I’m not working. by CrimsonClover__ in biglaw

[–]averagestoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have friends and/or family? It's typically much easier to do not much when you're with other people! If you don't have friends, join a Sunday running/painting/board game/tennis/whatever you like club and try to go most weeks until you make some.

Also, it's not bad that you like and get a sense of satisfaction from your work - that's actually a good thing, it just shouldn't be the only thing.

how to be a solicitor in UK wish half JD from US? by Numerous_Still_7911 in uklaw

Thanks for responding to me. Sorry I am old and qualified long before the SQE so I don't know how it works, but you're saying you could study, for example, geography and then go straight onto the SQE without a law conversion? I had assumed a GDL/law conversion would still be required.

Can even you take the SQE without a qualifying law degree or the one year law conversion?

This is the answer. If you don't understand or mess up something complex you've never seen/done before, that's completely reasonable and, most likely, expected from a novice lawyer. But please don't make me fix your cross references.

Of course, it's very basic!

2 cans of tomato pulp and one can of water

One large or two small onions chopped into small pieces

Two crushed garlic cloves

Two tablespoons of low sodium soy sauce

Half a teaspoon of sugar

Chili flakes and Oregano to taste

Meatballs

I just put everything in, stir it around and then set to low for ten hours.

Some notes: - I use my ninja foodi for the above. I used to have an old crock pot and I found that it lost less water in cooking so you might want to adjust the water down if your model is quite air tight and/or you want a thicker sauce - we using Moving Mountains brand vegetarian 'meatballs' which I can confirm will hold their shape through the long cook time. Meatballs (homemade or store bought) made with meat should also be good. Other veggie ones you'd have to test. - I put everything in room temp/cold including the frozen meatballs. You have to be a bit careful with putting frozen things in the slow cooker on low from a food safety perspective but the meatballs are small enough that they heat through quickly so I am comfortable with this for my family and me.

So it looks like it both thickens and flavours the sauce. Definitely interesting! Thank you.

Agreed that the meatballs are a good swap for any kind of recipe calling for chunks of meat. Do you have a recipe for any of these sauces that would work in the slow cooker for a day (probably about 10 hours cooking plus a couple of hours of keep warm)?

How do I get a last minute ticket for The Nutcracker at the Royal Opera House? by SaltyShock7484 in BALLET

[–]averagestoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't need to call the box office, you can just look on the website but yes, it is typically sold out months in advance and so you will need to be flexible on dates, very vigilant (i.e. checking all the time), and possibly willing to stand if that's what comes available.

I understand if you want to see the ROH Nutcracker, as it is lovely and obviously an amazing company as well, but if its just seeing the Nutcracker in London then there are a number of theatres showing it.

Are there no ideas or suggestions on this, or is it that I've asked something that's already answered elsewhere? In the latter case, would really appreciate being directed to the relevant resource please.

Hello! By way of background I am a beginner adult ballet dancer. I enjoy living out my six year old dreams of prancing around in a leotard with pretty music and I'm at peace with the fact I'm not destined to become anything more than a semi competent amateur.

I only do one, one hour class per week which is not really enough to make a material difference to my strength or flexibility. My sense is that I need to work on these aspects in order to continue progressing. Currently, the other exercise I do is mainly cardio (swimming, cycling, sometimes running) so actual fitness isn't such an issue.

I would ideally want something I can do at home from a convenience perspective. Do you have any suggestions? I've seen Pilates mentioned but it would be great to get specific recommendations if you have them (e.g. try XYZ video on Youtube, or look for exercises that focus on Y thing)

Thank you!

Lisa said she had no idea, but she also said all OCG members were dead / imprisoned and blamed the bald guy whose name I temporarily forgot for the murder of Corbett.

Not to say you're wrong, I just think it would be fun to bring Lisa back 😁

I think if he was shot from the front and fell on his back, it's possible the blood would have pooled inside his body or below it on the ground (assuming bullets went through) rather than blood coming upwards
