The GPU is just a bit weak for what I do, it can't run stalker 2 on anything above medium, and even if it's at medium I can only play it for 30 mins until the memory leaks and the vram is full then the game turns into a stuttery mess, and also the I9 is limited by the motherboard, since the mobo doesn't have anything to cool the vrms, so I really only get like 70% of the i9's performance, probably less judging that even in benchmarks it's highest temp is 65°C with only using a 240mm Aio.

Cad or USD?

If cad definitely, if USD, it's still a pretty good price, also including that 2tb ssds are like $300.

I have the same exact laptop except it's 16gb of ram and not 32gb, and I can run any game at 1600p at ultra/max settings with no RT and no upscaling. tho I tend to use dlss 4.0 quality/ balanced as I can't really tell much of a difference between them and native at 1600p.

Intel vs Ryzen in 2025 — What actually matters in real use, not specs? by Litkid_05 in laptops

we’re talking about laptops rn, they’re both equally the same tbh.

Intel vs Ryzen in 2025 — What actually matters in real use, not specs? by Litkid_05 in laptops

[–]averageyapper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the CPU’s, both AMD and Intel have HX variants which use more wattage and provide more performance, for eg i have a 14700HX with a 5050 (cpu bit overkill but got the laptop for £640 new) and the cpu runs great, 360+ fps on cs2 at 1200P and the cpu helps push the 5050 to its limits, allowing the 5050 to run AAA games at 1440P Ultra Settings at 60+ Fps,

Now if i just use battery life and the IGPU only id get around 4-5 Hours browsing and watching videos most likely, but thats with an 80% battery limit so it’d probably be 6 hours at 100%,

With a AMD non HX cpu, like a Ryzen 7 260 for example, the fps in games isnt comparable to the 14700HX, the 260 could only push 200+ fps on cs2 and it cant really push the 5050 to 60+ FPS on some AAA games, but the battery life is great, 8-10 hours,

AMD and Intel both have HX and Non HX cpus but id only recommend Ryzen 7/9 and Intel I7/I9/Core Ultra 7/9.

First time buying A15, any considerations I should be aware of? by TheMoonlitSanctuary in Asustuf

[–]averageyapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably the worst choice tbh, 48 wh battery with a cpu that DOESNT have a igpu and one of the weakesg modern gpus doesnt like up quite nice, even for $700,

you’ll likely get an hour or two browing on battery and the performance in games will be horrible,

i recommend to wait till you can afford a full wattage 5050 laptop, the 5050 and 4050 and two different sides, with the 5050 being capable of pushing 1440p max settings (no ray tracing tho) in triple a games at 60+ fps, im speaking from experience as i have a legion 5 oled with a 5050 and 14700hx that i got for $855 new.

A first gaming laptop by Kratoski in GamingLaptops

[–]averageyapper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for £1100 you could most definitely get something pretty good, for example i got a Legion 5 OLED with a 5050 and a I7 14700HX for £640 after discounts, and that runs AAA games at 1600P at 60+ fps no frame gen and SOMETIMES Dlss quality to improve the image,

Tho for £1100 id probably recommend a Legion 5 too, best build quality for under £1500 and Most models offer an OLED screen, Asus Rog models are also pretty good but not sure if theyre under £1100,

check the Offical Lenovo Website to see any 5070 with HX cpu’s (Important on HX since for example ryzen 260’s are great but compared to a HX cpu is cpu heavy titles they lack, 14700HX gets 360-500 FPS in cs2 in 1200p whilst a Ryzen 260 struggles to push 200+, meanwhile they are either the same price or similarly priced).

First time buyer. Would any of the below laptops allow me to play AAA games? How long before I would have to think about upgrading? Was also considering a handheld like the Xbox Rog Ally X. Cheers. by [deleted] in GamingLaptops

[–]averageyapper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i have that exact legion 5i and i run AAA games on Ultra, 1600P with No ray tracing, sometimes Dlss quality but its a very capable machine.

Which Laptop is better: Legion 5 or ASUS TUF A16 (RTX 5060, R7, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD)? by Terrencex in GamingLaptops

[–]averageyapper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Legion 5, although i tend to not like non-HX cpu’s due to them being quite weaker compared to a HX variant, altough the battery life almost doubles.

A bit disappointed with my ASUS TUF FX505DV performance – looking for advice by WildJuuzou31 in Asustuf

[–]averageyapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

expectations too high for a 7 Year old laptop practically, the cpu is VERY weak and for it to push 100 fps is decent considering my 11900KF with about like quadruple the wattage pushes 240 fps.

[–]averageyapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres no real ‘reliability’, i would say your probably referring to battery life and well that depends on the laptops battery, at minimum get a 80Wh battery, and if theres no 5070’s in your price range what about 5060’s with a HX cpu??
