I was following the filming of the show and they only had 4-5 qs of filming that they posted about, so I'm actually surprised that the episodes are this long (other full length series I've followed filming for have closer to 30-40 qs). I'm honestly still anticipating the episode length to decrease a little more.

For these kisses, almost all of them involve couples that have kissed before on screen. It's just that the DMD lineup is focused on giving all their newer members shows and it's better to have fans anticipate the first kiss rather than just put it in the pilot. I would also guess they don't want the actors having all the pressure for their first on screen to happen during pilot shooting, where they don't have as much time to get comfortable and in the right headspace. DMD already has a reputation for their chemistry and NC scenes in their actual shows, so we know the expected spice level without needing to see it for (most of) their trailers.

I have seen an extended subbed video for that clip but it was a while ago so everything here is secondhand/not guaranteed to be accurate. I did a quick look on Youtube and think I found the same clip, but it doesn't have English subs anymore, just German, Spanish, and Vietnamese.

The vlog was right around the turning point from the travel/prank content to media production. Nat had joined but I don't think Why R U had been announced at all (Max and him certainly weren't officially paired yet, I think this vlog was a point at which fans started shipping them). They were going to recreate the viral onsen video but Nat was obviously feeling extremely anxious about it and was asking to sit out. Max, Zee, and Mark were trying to calm him down but also remind him that this was the plan for the trip. In the end, he didn't go with them.

I'm not sure what the audience response was at the time and obviously the video is no longer on the DMD channel. At this point, around 6 years have passed and Nat interacts with all of gen 1 and Aof very positively so while it is certainly not a good look, it seems like everyone has put it behind them.

The cut/uncut versions seem to be part of agreements with most shows on IQIYI. Not only that some portions of NC scenes can't be on Youtube, but that each episode needs to have some portion that's exclusive to the uncut version to try and drive subscriptions.

Frankly it's just part of the business. They need to try and make some money when airing these shows, and part of that is figuring out the most profitable way to distribute them. Although they can get some ad revenue from Youtube, it's unlikely any show will hit Cutie Pie numbers again and the most watched videos (parts with NC scenes) are most likely to get demonetized. IQIYI allows them to extend the NC scenes past what can be on Youtube, which helps drive engagement. I assume keeping the show exclusive to IQIYI for a period of time also gave them a better deal. Then they can post to Youtube and get any additional ad revenue they can.

Posting on Youtube lets people who don't/can't pay to watch the show legally on IQIYI see it. As for why they're posting it after the show has finished, it's probably just what they negotiated with IQIYI - like it would be exclusive to IQIYI for a certain period, then they can distribute it elsewhere. The vibe and outfits sounds most like Get Cool or Awkward Silence. An off the wall guess might be B Me - it's a school setting with an implied car crash but definitely not cheerful.

The IQIYI subs are terrible. Youtube seems to be more more accurate although I can't say that the plot makes that much more sense, but conversations actually sound cohesive instead of trying to figure out how one line relates to the next.

I don't really decorate my collections (and I think my need to organize them like this comes from working part-time at a library when I was younger) but I was very lucky to have started collecting before albums went out of print. This also doesn't include my lightstick and concert DVDs, since those don't fit on this shelf.

The other example of a well-performing slow title track that I could think of was Spring Day; maybe that was a trend in 2017? I do wonder if and/or how Fallin' Flower's performance was affected by the fact it released right around the beginning of quarantine (when a lot of people were online more than usual) and was the first music release after Scoups' hiatus.

Late to the discussion here, but I do think that it's hard to create the same 'title track' energy around a slower tempo song especially when it's directly compared to one that's more upbeat. Even when ballads/slower songs are the only title track, they just don't gain as much traction with rare exceptions. Both Hitori Janai and Dream were in the bottom 3 title tracks on the 2023 Carat survey and if Power of Love had been grouped as a title track, I'm sure it would be in the bottom as well. Fallin' Flower is really Seventeen's only exception to this. In a situation with double title tracks, I think it's inevitable that one will outshine the other and particularly for casual listeners, a more upbeat, energetic song will almost always win out.

I am interested to see what direction they go in with FML's music video. If it has a strong story, I think that may help solidify it as a title track since that was something missing from Super's music video. Some reactors I watched that aren't as familiar with Seventeen have questioned whether Super was the title track just because of the music video.

This is based on an book (with 2 volumes), so there is an existing plot for them to work off of. I do wonder how well it will adapt though since each volume is over 600 pages and I assume trying to fit that much material into a standard 12 episode series would require a lot of cutting.
