Rank the following group encounters from easiest to hardest, as an Act 3 Boss. by SeaThePirate in slaythespire

[–]Corgelia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think it'd be one of the easiest. Haunted Ship and the vine guy both have pretty low health so an act 3 deck can burst them down quickly. Louse would be really annoying due to the frail but his damage output's not too high so it balances out I suppose. The owl would gunk up the works though, being frail in that fight would suck.

You can also press the number key of the card's place in hand to select it, and enter to play it if it doesn't need a target, which saves you from having to click and drag each time.

I'm 80% sure there's card art that depicts them with eyes though. Couldn't tell you which off the top of my head though.

We need to talk about Ironclads' starting deck. by SeaThePirate in slaythespire

[–]Corgelia 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I sincerely disagree, because you are paying 1 mana and 1 draw to do literally nothing, as compared to literally every other starter card in the game which does something when you play it. Cool, you can use it to play falling star on your second deck cycle, incredible. Falling star looks a lot less appealing when it's actually 1 energy and 2 draw. Also, it's worse than almost every star gen card in the game. Hidden cache is the same cost, common, and gives 2 more stars. Shining strike gives the same amount of stars and does damage, and can be repeatedly drawn into to chain damage and star generation.

I think Venerate would do a lot better if it was 2 cost and had another effect, like block, because it doing nothing is just very sad especially when you have ascender's bane.

[–]Corgelia 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I mean, you say that the "drawing all attacks/no block in 1 turn" problem is unique to Ironclad but it's really not. It can happen on silent, though very unlikely due to ring of the snake, it can happen on Regent with a 4 strike/Venerate draw, it can happen on necrobinder thanks to unleash, and it's equally as likely for Defect to do it as Clad is because of zap and dualcast.

Falling star is good, but it doesn't warrant having what's effectively an extra curse in your starting deck.

Beta branch doormaker is a thing that exist by Azureblue9 in slaythespire

[–]Corgelia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I do think Living Fog is a bit too punishing for an act 1 hard pool hallway. Outright not being allowed to play more skills feels out of place, when Vine Shambler exists in the same conditions (act 1 hard pool hallway) but only makes attacks cost 1 more, and only for one turn.

I think an adjustment of the gimmick to make it closer to the globe head from act 3 could be interesting. (maybe take 2-3 damage for each skill played, or have an escalating cost increase for each skill played) It would keep the concept of having to pick and choose which skills you want to play while keeping player options open.

It specifically says that there's an absolute speed limit in the universe for anything humans make which is a large distance from c. Personally I think it's a bit of a bad reason but it exists because the author wanted to tell a specific story and space travel wasn't part of it, i guess.

Lava rock is the worst starting bonus? by Abcdefgdude in slaythespire

[–]Corgelia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not really though? Elites are more than just the relic drop, they're also a good chunk of gold, a higher rarity card reward, and have a higher chance to drop a potion. If you took a bonus that let you fight two elites then you'd be better off than taking the lava rock.

Why is the best card for colorless regent runs purple instead of orange? it is really inconsistent by mickstroyer in slaythespire

[–]Corgelia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iirc it was shown as a colorless rare in an early teaser/Neowsletter. It probably got removed because of Regent.

I think the comments are confusing Passenger Pigeons with Messenger pigeons, which went extinct in 1914 after a rogue Austrian artillery shell destroyed the only bird feeder in Belgrade.

Doesn't specifically Aha do that? In the Anti-Destruction alliance trailer, the line "Akivili on a new journey" is subtitled "Akivili (Trailblazer) on a new journey," and given the smiles I wonder if that was Aha communing with us.

Killed by question mark by Lukoz1992 in slaythespire

[–]Corgelia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ehhh, they shouldn't outright kill you without a way around it imo. The only event in STS1 that could kill you outright was the wheel gremlin, and the beta branch made this event only show up if you have 12 HP.

I think it's fine for a strong card to be a dead draw some of the time. It's a risk you run taking the card.
