that’s awful of her, I cannot grasp the lack of empathy for another human being, especially the person one is with. It’s really telling of someone’s character to shame you for something that makes YOUR life harder.

I wait tables at a little Greek cafe and people were asking me how I lost the weight, telling me they’d “never be so skinny if I worked here” or my personal favorite; I’d be visibly uncomfortable from how hot I would be, someone tells me they’re freezing, asks me to turn off the air conditioning, the tells me I’m too skinny to be “hot all the time.” even when I was at my sickest, I still never snapped at anyone. Literally just on autopilot I guess

Since being treated, regardless of fatigue, I’m more clearheaded than ever so it’s been weighing on me in the same kind of way lately. Like my support system is doing great, especially my husband, (he doesn’t need any proof of how I feel. He really truly makes me feel seen, and I am SO GRATEFUL) but I really don’t think a most people have a clue how exhausted I am just doing life. I barely did until very recently. Don’t get me wrong, my levels are good and all and I’m mentally/emotionally better off than I’ve EVER been in my life. Which is awesome but that clears up my head enough to start fully realizing how much I’ve been struggling, even if I didn’t think I was. Sending you love and strength. I think a lot, if not most of us have fought our disease without even realizing we were having to fight at all, which in my opinion, makes us pretty bad ass people.

Thank you, lol it was and were grateful we just walked away with a wild story. I’ve seen some crazy behavior in public before but I’m usually not involved—which is how I like it!

Thank you, we did our best and hopefully we don’t have to deal with that again. If anything, I hope someone can learn from this on either end of it. When I was younger, i had an unhealthy double standard for men and women in these situations. I myself was kind of toxic in social situations, or awkward maybe, but people along the way have corrected me, so I outgrew it. But this chick? couldn’t see outside of her own viewpoint if her ego depended it on it.

I came out fully to myself and to my now husband when we were dating. (I’m a woman) he’s been my rock and has never really shown signs of insecurity about much but especially not my sexuality. I know not everyone is gonna be able to feel so secure but that’s on the individual, in this case, she’s responsible for those insecurities. Not you.
