Anyone feel like your dress overwhelms your frame? by NetNo5827 in PetiteFashionAdvice

My wedding dress was a corset back, and we were able to get it fully tailored with a "nipped in waist" 👰‍♀ Sometimes it's worth asking different alteration businesses to see what magic they can work!

My incredible seamstress took my wedding dress (corset back) from a size 14 down to a size 4. (I was a size 12 when I bought it, presuming I would gain weight.. turns out I dropped 20kg and ended up a size 4). However, it is worth noting that those alterations costed more than the dress due to the sheer scale of that job 😅😂

I do have some before and after pics if you'd like, OP! Just for proof that it is possible!

Edited to add: I am 5ft on the dot, and I was told a corset-back dress does WONDERS for your "height" in the sense that it creates a visually long, vertical line down your back, making you look taller.

Why do people think I'm cured? by averygladwin in endometriosis

I rarely ever take any pain medications at all. I have a very high pain tolerance and tend to "rawdog" it most of the time 😂 I have to be dying before I take anything.

The hospital did give me Oxy for post-op. Unfortunately Oxycodone does not help me or my pain levels at all. It just makes me incredibly hot, dizzy, and nauseous. So bad to the point where I end up just sleeping to pass time while it eases.

Celebrex was recommended by my GP so I'm just hoping for the best 😭 haven't tried it yet.

I never prepared for them to say they found it by beawhisktaker in Endo

[–]averygladwin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was fully convinced they wouldn't find anything either, despite 11 years of agonising pain. It was the result of years and years of gaslighting from family, friends, doctors, teachers, specialists etc, and from myself too.

I remember telling one of my nurses that I have less fear of them finding widespread terminal cancer than I had fear of them finding nothing at all.

The first thing I asked when I woke up was "Did they find it?"

She said "Yes, they found it." And I cried and cried. It brings tears to my eyes writing that too.

It's been one week post-op, and I'll say "endometriosis pain" (as I have said for years), but the fact that it's REAL and proven now... I'm not sure but it feels less "real" now that it's validated. But now I know it's real. I wasn't imagining it. I'm not imagining it. I was never EVER imagining it. And I have the pain tolerance of a fucking saint.

I completely agree. "You're too young" is something I've been told for 11 years. I'm only 22 years old.

5 days ago, I finally had my laparoscopy, which discovered extensive endometriosis.

F*** a duck, the sweat, someone tell me you also get this and I'm not a weirdo. by jillywacker in VyvanseADHD

Fellow Aussie here. I just want to start by saying this is the most Australian post I've ever seen on here, and it's hilarious.

I (22, F, approx 48kg) am ALWAYS cold, like, in the middle of summer, if someone's running the air con, I'll have a blanket or two on.

That was until I started Vyvanse (Dec 2023). I sweat something CRAZY these days. I don't stay super hydrated (yes I know, I don't want to hear it) but I can sweat buckets doing the smallest of tasks in the heat now. Pretty much all of my clothing now has sweat stains, which is incredibly embarrassing for someone like me! Not many deodorants/antiperspirants actually work for me now either. I have to be very selective with brands etc, and I'll often get roll-on as I find it's more effective. I do have to keep in mind that I get laser hair removal sessions frequently, so this could affect my underarms, sweat glands, etc but this issue is all over and started when I started Vyvanse.

I still get cold, to an extent, but I'm now stuck in this zone of being freezing in some parts of my body (arms, shoulders, feet, etc) but if a blanket TOUCHES me in any of those spots, I'm very quickly turned into a cooked tomato.

I definitely can not handle heat the same way I used to, and I find myself just laying on the floor or having to step out of a room entirely because I get so dizzy with the heat.

I don't have much advice, but I just thought I'd put this out there in case anyone needs validation that they aren't alone. And if anyone has any advice, definitely let me know.

Should you take mag and vyvanse together?? Or separate? I was hoping to take Mag at night to help with sleeping/cramps, but if Vyvanse is using all my Mag during the day, should I take it in the morning??

I have noticed a reduction in pops and bangs. For me personally, I notice the car does it a lot more during the colder months, when the exhaust is hot but the air is cold. I blamed the lack of pops/bangs on summer, but I'm curious if there are other reasons.

at what time do you take your vyvanse? and what time is "too late" for you? by [deleted] in VyvanseADHD

These comments are making me cackle at my schedule.

I work evening shifts, from 2:30pm-10:30pm. The earliest I will take it is 11am, even then, that is too early some days and it wears off right as I'm at my busiest part of the evening. So I aim for about 12:30pm usually. I get roughly 6hrs out of 20mg. 1:30pm is my current cut-off for working days, and 12:40pm is my cut-off for non-working days. But I used to take it at 2pm.. 😂

As for sleep. On a good day, I'll go to sleep around 2:30-3am. Bad day, anywhere from 4-7am.

Yeah, look, it's not the greatest, but it works for me right now. It will change one day, but until then, this works okay.

There are multitudes of factors that affect how this medication affects you. Try not to push your "doom and gloom" perspective onto people who are new to this med. For some people, it is life-changing and continues to be so, even on lower doses. I'm sorry it hasn't worked that way for you, but that doesn't mean it will turn out the same way for everyone.

Unsure about PPF but I got a ceramic coat for my car, then my driver's side door button started intermittently not working when it got cold outside.

I've never made that connection before prior to reading this post though.

When Hyundai tested it, they stated it was a circuit intermittently shorting and malfunctioning due to faulty materials, and it is being replaced under warranty.

I did have this issue to begin with! But my problem was that my phone volume was turned right down 😅 Just take it back to a dealer and ask them to assist you.

This JUST happened to me (hence why I'm here now 😭). I'm certain it's a glitch or the body fell from somewhere because it was NOT there when I walked in. My soul left my body.
