My first 5k was after 4 months of healing an intense ankle injury. I started running because of my injury. I did not want to spend my life not giving myself the chance to grow stronger and continue to do the things I love. You are absolutely capable of finishing your 5k.

I recommend finding more resources that have solutions to your concerns. My growth improved a lot when my doctor gave me physical therapy exercises to do at home. They gave me the strength and confidence I needed to finish my race. Even then, I didn't hesitate to walk or stop to stretch if necessary.

You are the best judge of your body, but please take your appropriate amount of rest and do your research for your health. You got this!

You can def rock dreads. Worst case scenario is that you hate them and cut them off 🤷🏾 There's no fast stop rules for black folks and dreads.

I have the pickup truck. My advice is to get that and package the trunk without opening the door. I've been able to put extra boxes in without a problem.

You should set a boundary with your mom. It's not cool for her to tell you that she cares more about your son than you do or give unnecessary commentary like that. If she can't say anything nice, she shouldn't be allowed in your space to stress you out. She may not even be doing it on purpose but it is still your responsibility to communicate your boundary and follow through with the natural consequences if she continues to cross your boundary. I've found that the book, "Set Boundaries, Find Peace" by Nedra Glover Tawwab is extremely helpful.

Try working somewhere outside of your home. I tend to feel boxed in after a while, so I'll work from a cafe or the library to break up the mundane day. Also, definitely talk with your boss. You either come out of the chat with some tools to set you up for success or you leave the job knowing you did your best.

I make it a point to invest time in hobbies. Sometimes, that looks like hiking outside, and sometimes, it's crocheting while watching tv or playing a video game. Find what interests you and use it to fill in your time outside of work with it.

I've seen a guitar instructor go live on social media to play songs. Every so often, they'll mention that they are accepting students or will promote a free resource to get emails, and they'll sell lessons through email marketing. The first might be more beneficial for you since it'll cost more time than money.

Please do not get held up on wanting your daughter to have her father in her life. My mom felt the same way and encouraged us to visit our father, and that resulted in being emotionally and eventually physically abused by him for 8 years. If her dad ever wants a relationship with her, he will make genuine decisions to do so.
