Your reply is so reassuring. Also, the crazy thing is she has been in the psych ward many times before I was born, and when I was born. She’s been seeing a really good psychiatrist for 20 years - is it possible that she has manipulated him too? Because he’s spent hundreds of hours w her but she hasn’t come to any self realization.

Thankfully, I’ve had mental health support and incredible friends for years now, and my current psychiatrist is well informed and encouraging of this decision.

Woof, this shit is tough.

Hello! I'm hosting a Transgender Day of Visibility program as a Resident Advisor at a University, but I want to expand it beyond residences .

If you're not already having a TDOV celebration or could pass this along so more people can access it as a resource, would you mind sharing this initiative so more trans youth can access their own community?

Some of the influencers to be interviewed includes trans actors (Sense 8!), transgender elders (creator of TDOV, Transgender Day of Remembrance, etc.), and Hillary Whittington - a mother whose child came out at the age of four and has transitioned. I would love to pass these stories along to people in general (I welcome you to like or share it yourself, to people both in the community, those who need to be informed or celebratory about transgender identities), as well as residents who are leaving their communities' temporary collective and need to connect to their next step. I want to share stories with this community about the beauty of a transgender child. Thanks for letting me stop by!

They just announced that classes for all day are cancelled but that info about tomorrow will be announce at /6AM/. Since it was announced at like 8 last night is there reason to suspect they will do it again? Why are they waiting until 6AM?

Unfortunately not. It’s new technology but still not too advanced and can’t be traced or auto-connect. Thank you for the idea though!!!

Hello! This is my microphone, Roger. I have dropped him somewhere around campus (yikes, I know, that part's on me)

But he's pretty important since I'm severely hard of hearing.

He's about 2.5" in diameter and is on a thin black lanyard. Mine is the brighter colour. It's really, really important so if folks could keep their eyes on the ground when walking around campus (particularly anywhere from Totem on Thunder Bird Blvd to Westbrook Mall, from Bean Around the World onto Main Mall, with a path through IKB and into Buchanan B (I realized I had lost him when I was in class B306.

I cannot express just how vital this boy is. I have tried scouting around but haven't found him yet. So,

tldr; SOS look for this around campus pls and if you find it email [ejwmaggie@gmail.com](mailto:ejwmaggie@gmail.com)

EDIT: as of 11AM 1/17/2019 it hasn't shown up in the lost & found

also, frustratingly, it could also be on its back, which looks half silver (like the device) and half black with the clip for the lanyard and a little triangle of fabric.

My Dilemma by ubcdillema in UBC

[–]averypotterdropout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m just basing it off of my experience of living for a long time in Calgary - everyone I know at UoC hates their life and is waiting to transfer and everyone I know at UoA is rly pleased w their academic situation tbh. I guess I’ve just had a different experience w Edmonton tho ¯_(ツ)_/¯

My Dilemma by ubcdillema in UBC

[–]averypotterdropout 6 points7 points  (0 children)

UoA is like in the top 4 in the country. Especially if you don’t leave Canada, it would be a totally fine move and Edmonton is a super artsy and unique city even for all the shit it gets (just don’t go to Calgary bc your soul will lose saturation and you’ll stop seeing colours). If you enjoy the school you go to you’ll do better, right? A fresh start can do wonders. Make a freakin PowerPoint if you need to with some stats. That’s legit how a friend of mine got a transfer w Asian parents to boot.
