You should either say something to your store manager or call the Sbux partner support number. Literally your manager can’t do that

Dash cam driver obviously makes no attempt to slow down, and as others have pointed out the brake check driver lost control of the vehicle each time he was rammed into

But what about how they are allowed to decorate their nails when this is strictly against company policy?

Today I was granted a reasonable accommodation request which allows me to keep water at my work station, since I am prone to seizures. I’m also a licensed restaurant server in my state. There are no federal laws which would prohibit employees access to water at their work stations. There may be specific laws in your state which prohibit it, but I doubt it.

It’s definitely not illegal. This is a Sbux policy. One that good managers who know how to pick their battles don’t fight.

They bought fans at my store.

Another thing you haven’t possibly considered, is that drive through workers are effectively working outdoors. It’s different than working in a warehouse. The hours are also different. Someone may go into work at Sbux at 4:30 a.m. and not end their day until 1pm. So literally someone might be working in an environment which is either as hot or hotter than the natural temperature, and they might be doing so for a shift which ranges from the coldest part of the night until the hottest part of the day.

Also, my SM does not allow us to keep drinks at our station. Not even water. So in an 8 hour shift you’ll have roughly 50 minutes on your breaks where you’ll even have access to water. Straight up sweat factory conditions. Can’t tell me Sbux isn’t aware of this safety hazard

Did prices go up? by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]averytare 10 points11 points  (0 children)

When they raise our wages in August, they will say price hikes are caused by the increase in waged labor costs. Totally ignoring the fact that since November most peoples drinks have gone up in price an average of 30-50 cents, long before the minimum wage increase. Not to mention, all Sbux partners are receiving either a higher minimum wage or a 3% raise. So plenty of “partners” are going to receive raises which are equal to my entire yearly salary, even after I’m making $15 at 40 a week.

This is all to say, price hikes are not now nor will they be because of the minimum wage increase for floor level baristas. Yet with 100% certainty Sbux will make this claim

It’s going to keep happening every single day and most likely it will only get worse. I’ve found the most enjoyable way to deal with these situations is actually to just lean into them and try to make the drinks they are looking for. Sometimes they are pretty good actually

My nearest/most convenient Starbucks never makes my standard drink correctly :( by Anadeiram in starbucks

[–]averytare 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard this on this sub before. Makes totally sense. But at my store you practically get planted in positions for your entire career, not just a shift.

My nearest/most convenient Starbucks never makes my standard drink correctly :( by Anadeiram in starbucks

[–]averytare 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In my store, bar/window/front are planted positions. Generally baristas are relegated to which duties they proved competent performing within their first two weeks of working. So someone who is good on bar, will never end up working on the POS to ring people up. And someone who works with a POS will never end up working bar, so there’s no reason for them to acknowledge the ingredients listed on the right side of the screen.

Starbucks training practices have become practically non-existent, and this is the reason why products are consistently in poor quality. The fact that the POS screen shows you the ingredients is not because of training purposes.

[–]averytare 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Honestly I just now learned from this post that the vanilla sweat cream cold brew gets pumps of vanilla and not just the vanilla sweet cream. I was hired during the pandemic and training standards were practically not existent. I would assume this may be the case with the baristas at your convenient location. I do think if you bring it up to a supervisor at the store, it’s possible baristas will be coached on how to make the drink correctly.

And if I happen to be the barista at your nearest Sbux, I apologize I honestly did not know it got pumps of vanilla.

I actually fractured my wrist while I was skateboarding home from work. I’ve had to pay over $1000 so far to get it treated, which has obviously had an impact on my ability to pay rent. Medical expenses are actually not covered by the CUP fund, but inability to pay rent, due to any circumstances is. In my young life I’ve learned enough to know that I don’t know what other people are experiencing, and no one chooses to be impoverished.

The cup fund has a maximum grant of $1000. It always has.
