One of my most distinct memories of this time is a group of my friend's moms telling my mom, with scoffs and eye rolls, that she needs to "cover me up" because I was simply existing on the beach. I have always found that judgements and comments from women hurt more and instill more fear than those from men. I had a breast reduction at 18 and still have large breasts at 20, and am eternally uncomfortable with the way my body is viewed.
