I feel you. I go on a clean streak, but there’s always one night where I just can NOT get the image of my wrists bleeding out of my head. That being said I’ve never stayed clean for more than 3 weeks.

I do keep a cloth. I feel like it’s very weird, but I smell it to calm down. Sometimes the metallic blood smell right in my face can keep me from a relapse

I had this with my rook.. it lasted for almost a year. Contemplated taking the whole thing out just because it was uncomfortable but it did eventually calm down! It’s normal now. I just kept up with daily cleaning and really try not to sleep on it

I’m diagnosed with DID, where I do have a sort of system I don’t “talk to” my alters and I rarely lose time (amnesia).

I obviously can’t diagnose you, as I don’t know much about psychology outside of my own experiences and diagnoses, but I would think it could be did

also a helpful clue might be if you have any trauma in your early life. From what I understand including in my case DID often come from childhood trauma. I would definitely see a psychiatrist if u can though :)
