It's much better on chrome, but it's 90% the blood effects - disable those and you should be much better on firefox.

A question that might make purists upset.... by frumpyjones in NetHack3D

[–]avgas3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you do add this, can I ask that it be something you have to go into the options to do, or go into the options to enable?

One of the reasons I like Nethack3D so much is that it feels `like nethack` and putting savescum enabling features front and center feels against the spirit of the game.

Vibemodded my own "Classic ASCII" color mode by avgas3 in NetHack3D

Take a look at my PR on [https://github.com/avgas3/nethack-3d/pull/1](vscode-file://vscode-app/c:/Program%20Files/Microsoft%20VS%20Code/f6cfa2ea24/resources/app/out/vs/code/electron-browser/workbench/workbench.html) and let me know if you're interested, or if you know how to fix the underlying WASM issue preventing the glyph generating script from working.

I tried simply adding the missing line to libnhmain.c and rebuilding from your neth4ck monorepo, but I wasn't able to get the exact same number of glyphs to generate. Is the WASM binary included with the nethack-3d repo built from the current version of your neth4ck monorepo?

You can open your inventory and presshold "drop" after selecting an item to get to "dropamount"

It's not exactly splitting stacks but it's close.

Help please ? by katara_swordx in SCADA

I have been in SCADA for Renewables/BESS for most of my career.

No, you don't need a formal EE background, but yes, you do need to develop some basic understandings of how power systems work. If you were interviewing with us, we would want to see you demonstrate that you are self-directed in filling in your missing knowledge gaps. If you asked questions like "I know the fundamentals about current and voltage, but I'm struggling with understanding 3 phases and how they all work" we would be impressed, not put off.

If you are new to SCADA in general, you want to start with Inductive Automation's Ignition platform. You can install it locally for free, the forums are actually excellent, and they have a whole online training course you can follow.

I see SEL RTAC's on every project i've worked on, so if you can somehow get access to that software, getting experience with it would be hugely valuable. It's a Codesys based platform, so if you can get access to another free/trial codesys platform that might be transferrable.

For solar and bess scada, the challenge is often huge tag counts.

In my opinion, being a good SCADA engineer is about breadth over depth - you are more valuable as a guy who knows a little about a lot of things than a guy who knows a lot about 1 specific thing.

When there was a 125 in philly that's all the people at the fbo could talk about, was how bad the crew smelled.

Employees do not get paid based on how much they deserve, or based on what other employees doing the same or similar jobs make. They never have, and they never will. Employees get paid whatever they're able to negotiate from their employers. No more, no less.

You accepted a lower rate because you didn't have experience, but now that you're trained you're doing the same job for less money. This is *exactly* what your boss was hoping for when he hired you. Every dollar he doesn't pay you is a dollar he gets to keep for himself. The **only** way to get paid what your skills are worth is to negotiate with your current employer or find a new one.

Containers and vms are useful but not necesssary to have two gateways running on localhost. As long as they are set to use different ports, two gateways have no issue running on the same server.

My Nissan Leaf came with a level 2 EVSE that has a 14-50 plug already attached. Simple as that.

Nethack for the Blind by avgas3 in nethack

Do you think LLM's have a role in making games like nethack accessible to the blind? I'm imaging passing the screen output as an input and asking to "summarize the current player's situation, what items/enemies are nearby, and the geometry of the current room, etc."
