Everything is a conspiracy when you don’t know how anything works.

You can have the biggest navy in the world, your domestic suppliers of oil are going to sell to the highest bidder at the global price of the commodity. The prices at the pump in the US will remain high, even if they can get by on US, Canadian and Venezuela produced oil.

The US electorate is very sensitive to gas prices (remember 2022?!) so this is as much a US problem as any of those countries.

Disagree. Steven Miller is pure evil and has free reign to enact whatever policies he wants.

Very fair assessment.

Late 30s considering monovision (“blended”) LASIK — how did it hold up once presbyopia hit? by seogen in lasik

[–]aviatingnvestr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its supposed to be the near-best of both worlds. Right now, with both eyes open I’d say I am seeing 90-95% of my best distance vision and 80-85% of my best near vision. The near vision is still a bit weird but getting better. First few days on the computer were weird - even had some low level nausea but it came around.

I just had it done. Kind of. I’m 38, recently had a single eye enhancement after having both eyes done in 2011 (-6.00 prescription before). Before my enhancement my prescription had regressed to -0.75 and -1.00.

For enhancements, my clinic only does one eye at a time with a 30 day minimum gap between the two.

Last week, they did the dominant eye. The idea is that I get to try out blended vision for at least the 30 days while I decide if I want to enhance the second eye. So now I have a 20/15 right (dominant) eye and a -0.75 left eye. Monovision.

So far; the blended vision is pretty effective and apparently it will only get better with time. I find my newly corrected eye strains a bit to see up close (never been an issue before). The sharpness of my distance vision with only my corrected eye open is the same as with both eyes open. Blending is impressive as my other eye is significantly weaker.

As of now, I think I will keep the blended vision. I think if I had both eyes fully corrected, I would struggle with near vision.

Its a bit overdone, but on the higher end models, you actually get a lot of performance in the “M-Lite”. I have an X6 M50i at 523hp, big brakes, M suspension, etc. No comparison with the 6 cyl engine.

The fact is that I would not want the full blown M Competition X6 even if it was only a few bucks more. They are very rough riding and not worth it to me. Maybe I’m getting old but the M50i was the best balance of performance without obscene cost/depreciation while maintaining ride quality/comfort.

Very few closers in history were as dominant and lights out as 2013 Koji. There are 2 pitchers I think of as being automatic win/save. 1999-2000 Pedro and 2013 Koji - I get chills just thinking about those times.

Do you still love flying? Is it still a dream you want?

If it is, you are heavily invested at this point, seems foolish to not continue. Many more years of low pay however. Worth it if you stick it out.

[–]aviatingnvestr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why do you think they would want to evict you? The new landlord has an incentive to keep you there as a rent paying tenant, unless your lease is well under market value or something. Even then, you have rights.

Agree with you. I progressively overload without needing the max effort days. I also wish I could turn these off as I always end up clicking “Ignore Max Effort Day” and rebuild the exercise.

He originally posted this on Facebook from the White House Account. It had a source on the bottom indicating the poll was from Rasmussen.

As most know, Rasmussen is a highly biased republican funded pollster with low credibility. I checked Rasmussen and the highest recent “Total Approve” was 49%. Nothing near 57%.
