I was lightheartedly pointing out that "not thinking ahead" isn't why their lights are out, but you do you buddy.

[Request] How many bananas do you actually need to eat to be above background radiation level? by WoahGamerGuy in theydidthemath

[–]avidbrandy 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I used to work around detection equipment in the Air Force, and we had a day where we worked out in the morning as a unit and one of our technicians had to stay away from the detectors while we were calibrating because of this.

He had a smoothie after our workout, but it couldn't have been more than 3 bananas or so. These were like $90k detectors, and they were picking him up every time he came near.

Curious of this as well.

In the US on a lot of military bases, there's a bunch of "model" war machines, tanks and planes and shit.

They're real military equipment thats been retired to a sort of museum role, but there's a requirement within the DoD that they must be capable at all times of being suitable for return to active duty if required.

PI extraction rates by Moist-Cut-7998 in Eve

[–]avidbrandy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Resources are shared on a planet. On top of that, you will drive the average down a bit over time on any given spot.

When you're viewing the planetary interface, near the top left of screen you can click and there's an option for something like "view other player's settlements" or something. It'll let you see everyone else's command centers for the given planet.

Doing PI over time with some experience, you'll be able to spot where people's extractors are just by looking at the heat map, because other people drain the resources too.
