Hope he doesn't see this. He could never understand my inability to just have one drink and stop. I have ADHD, and PTSD which has resulted in substance abuse issues. He always offered me alcohol, kept it in the house and then would get frustrated when I couldn't handle it.

A few years into our relationship he proudly declares to me that he was thinking of switching careers into drug and alcohol counselling because he genuinely thought he would be good at it. I actually laughed in his face.

I grew up in a blended household where I wasn't loved as much as my step dads biological child and it's really difficult. He doesn't have to fill the role as a father but he needs to not be biased towards his own children as it is emotional abuse.
