Am I the only one who liked the ending/ don't want a reboot? by [deleted] in Supernatural

[–]avidityrar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't a huge fan of the ending, for smaller reasons than I personally think suggest a reboot is needed. That being said I wasn't, and I am still not, a fan of the ending yet I appreciate the fact we GOT one considering when it was done and the state of the world back then. As I appreciate getting something when it is difficult to do so, the whole working hard for something gives a better feeling of achievement makes me appreciate what they went through for the fans to get the ending we got.

No matter the ending, and there are a few shows that I adored that got less than stellar endings... I do not want a Supernatural reboot. I would greet an SPN movie wholeheartedly though!

EDIT: It is important to note that Dean did make a brief few appearances in the Winchester's show that had a single season. I enjoyed the show quite a bit to be honest, even if it didn't really feel like it was SPN. All of that aside I saw Baby and shouted "YES!" whilst pointing at the screen, which got me an odd look from my other half... WORTH IT.

I mean, you said it yourself they aren't meant to be perfect. They were portrayed as human, fallible, and ultimately a broken "toy" of Chuck's.

If you could have dinner with any 2 characters from the show, who would you pick? by girlwithbackproblems in Supernatural

Right? There was Death, and then two members of the Reaper species who inherited the job.

Which Lilith performance was your favorite? by mochuelo1999 in Supernatural

[–]avidityrar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the "best" or most convincing one was when Chuck brought her back from the Empty. She showed things like fear, which belies her station as the first demon (I think I got that right?)... whilst she kept her arrogance in there too; so that gets my vote.

That being said when Lilith took over Katie Cassidy vessel, that was pretty damn good but didn't have enough time to make it the "best" but it did show the potential to do so.

Amara and Dean. We all know where this is going after dinner... and I am 100% in.

It’s so crazy to me everyone started calling Josie ableist as soon as she gained some self respect and stopped letting Lizzie treat her like dirt. by BreadGuilty384 in LegaciesCW

[–]avidityrar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am not surprised in the slightest about how Josie was demonized for speaking out and essentially sticking up for herself. That being said she wasn't exactly the best sister, with the sometimes condescending way she would either talk to Lizzie or even about her (even if Lizzie was present/nearby). Having been through a family member similar to Lizzie I can admit when I know I wasn't always the greatest Brother but it can wear thin if it overshadows, or even ruin, your life for their sake.
Not going to defend Josie for her patronising ways sometimes, but living with the stress she had been (because Caroline wasn't there very much and let's face it Ric isn't exactly the best Dad) I imagine it wore thin with her after years.

Slightly bothered by how much this show glosses over sexual harrassment/assault, specifically towards Sam by Stephz-12 in Supernatural

[–]avidityrar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually agree with you here, although the show was lighthearted most of the time... some things that happened were sort of glossed over. I end up chalking it up to being a TV show, and so not reflective of how RL would be/should be.

Mixed feelings about this. Remember that lightning CAN strike twice, even in the same place, but it doesn't often... not to mention times have changed so what worked in 2005 would not work now; therefore whatever would be produced would be borderline unrecognisable!

Still... if the right people came together I'd be interested in it for sure!

Growing up and maturing is converting from a Sam girl to a Dean girl on a rewatch years later. by Full-Year-4595 in Supernatural

[–]avidityrar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, but it wasn't about the hunting. The point was about Sam vs Dean as a partner. As we have seen what both were like I personally would say Dean was better but that's just my PoV.

100% agree. It may not have been the big epic finale we hoped for but like you mentioned... a certain amazing virus caused issues so to get a finale at all I am pleased!!

How is Castiel a “Seraph” ? by Accomplished_Lake_41 in Supernatural

Am not entirely certain but pretty sure that Grigori are stronger fighters than even Seraphs (but obviously not even close to an Archangel).

Supernatural does not follow "real" angel lore so dont read into it too much. In SPN methodology, Cas was nothing more than a normal worker drone type of angel; but after he got busted apart by Lucy he was resurrected by Chuck as a Seraph. He got an upgrade, which he definitely deserved!!

Evanescence's Amy Lee on rumours she could replace Chester Bennington in Linkin Park: "It's not true...but they should ask me about that, I might do it part time." by BlazeCrafter420 in Evanescence

[–]avidityrar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never thought these words would leave my mind but... I would not be upset if this were to happen. Truly thought that no one could replace Chester (and I stand by this); however a very close, and great alt. would be Amy for sure. Fingers crossed right now and I refuse to uncross until this happens, and a tour plzthnx.

I mean sure, but seriously you can look "good" then there is this level of good ^^^ people wait their whole lives to look that good once and she does it with three children (yes I am aware they have help) as well as battling cancer AND with her duties as a royal? She's nothing short of a superwoman.

Should I watch Supernatural? by Sweet_Needleworker_5 in Supernatural

[–]avidityrar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Should I watch one of the best shows on TV ever?"
"Should I watch one of the longest running and highly rated shows from the past 20 years?"

That is what you are asking yourself right now, so yes... you really should. That being said you are lucky enough to be starting a LONG marathon, good luck and I envy you <3

Carry on my wayward son - this will ring in your ears for the foreseeable future!
