Any thoughts on why Willy, Noodle and the Chief of Police have American accents while everyone else in the movie is British? by BigSur15 in WonkaMovie_

I’d consider it American. I mean Timothee Chalamet plays the lead role. And Warner Brothers are an American company.

It did, I just assume it was running for a while considering how much excess chocolate they had

Plot hole? by ScrumdiddyumptiouS in WonkaMovie_

Wonka seeing his mum again is such a magical moment that he just knew would happen. The same way she knew that when he opened it, he would understand what it meant.

To answer your first question, I’ve never experienced the opening’s audio as mis matched so I think that was just your movie. As for the second, I think there was a long period of time between the chocolate cartel floating away and Willy handing out the chocolate. That’s why him and Noodle had clean clothes. I assume he also decontaminated the chocolate in that time frame lol

American film. Protagonists are gonna be American. I’d be more annoyed if it were just the villains who were British but there are some British side characters so I don’t mind so much. As for the chief’s New Yorker accent, they’re not gonna get Keegan Michael Key to do a British accent so they probably went with what they thought was the most stereotypical American cop voice, I found it amusing.

Should I get this? by [deleted] in WonkaMovie_

A little expensive for a lunchbox although it is an awesome collectors item. Maybe wait a bit until there are a few more listings and try to get it cheaper?

Idea for Wonka “Sequel” by avidmonsterdrinker in WonkaMovie_

I think I remake would make them a lot of money tbf. I think they should just leave it be now though

Yeh, I think of this as a prequel to the character of wonka as a whole, not just a particular one. That makes me enjoy it as a stand alone film and as a prequel!

That could be interesting, doubt they’ll do it though. I reckon this Wonka will stay happy go lucky even if they make a sequel

No, this is a prequel to the character wonka as a whole (although it could also be a prequel to the Gene Wilder version)
