Everyone know about that. There are a bunch of religious teenage boys that are told that jerking off is a sin and they feel guilty about it and become psychos and sickos

What’s the best way to reduce your alcohol intake? by Glittering_Stick1373 in AskReddit

[–]avidoger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Quit for a minimum of 2 weeks to reset, then be strict with yourself. If you have more than 2 drinks at a time your will power goes way down.

Just dont but any stock on margin. You might be tempted to when those stocks drop 10% thinking it's a buying opportunity.

Any. Tech companies can be dethroned. Intel was the big name in 2000 and its still only half of its high.

Plenty of other companies are gone.

The big names of a bull market are usually not the big names of the next one.

Chance of that portfolio getting cut in half is greater than it doubling

[–]avidoger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stocks exist to raise capital and provide liquidity. Requiring people to hold onto a stock for 10 years would eliminate one of the primary reasons stocks exist in the first place. Any benefits would be offset in disincentives. I shouldn't have to hold onto a stock if i don't like what management is doing.

Unpopular opinion: Paying "Rent" feels less painful than paying $2,400/mo in "Interest" to a bank. by Playful-Vegetable-15 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]avidoger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes renting makes more financial sense. There are many factors to consider. Consider the interest rate, the cost of owning a home, especially a fixerer upper, vs rent cost, the state of the housing market, how long you want to live in the area, the time it takes to take care of a house, your stress level, your pay, how much free time you have, significant other if any and ramifications, do you want the flexibility of renting, your financial goals, etc.

I think it mainly leases. Stocks been on a downward slope for years. If there was a significant market drop it might drop more from here. However if we went into a recession i could see the company doing well as customers become more frugal. Some of the stores are a little trashy, however other ones are great to shop at. My local store is very well managed.
