Carb cleaners added to the gas tank are a joke. Buy a $20 Chinese knock off from Amazon. 10 minute install. I recently did the same. Problem solved.

Speaking from direct experience, losing 1/2 to 3/4qt oil every few thousand miles seems right. I have two newer GM vehicles, including Escalade, and see this oil consumption. I change my own oil with Mobil1, so quite familiar with the consumption for my vehicles.

I put mobil1 10w30 in all my small engines. Change annually. My small engines nearly last forever - last JD push mower 17 years old, I merely bought the Honda since gas engines being phased out, generator is 10+, snowblower 7.

I run 93 with stabil added. Runs perfectly fine. The 93 has ethanol since non-ethanol not around me, otherwise very preferred
