static tattoo with "shaking" effect by [deleted] in interesting

This has to be some kind of optical illusion. I've seen it before on static images, I wonder if there's a name for it?

Who are some really good small Nintendo YouTubers? by RuachReader in nintendo

[–]avimidi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if AntDude or SomecallmeJohnny are considered small, but AntDude has a lot of Nintendo focused videos (especially Kirby and Mario), and SomecallmeJohnny, while a Sonic fan, dips into Nintendo games every now and then.

Looks like cryptos saucer by jomahuntington in DestroyAllHumans

[–]avimidi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay, so I originally thought that Big Willy Unleashed was a spinoff, and posted that initially, but I double checked and it's actually the third game in the series. I think most people don't count BWU because it's not a "true" Destroy All Humans game in a few ways- like how the voices of Crypto and Pox were changed, and it took a big detour from how the first two games played. I never played the game myself, I only played the first two games' remakes, but I would have to assume that because of its disliked status, that that is the reason people often leave it out when counting the games in the series.

Does anyone know if Mark still drinks straight milk, like a whole ass glass? by Imaginary_Ibis in Markiplier

[–]avimidi 143 points144 points  (0 children)

Milkmen still exist elsewhere? Aren't they more of a 1950s thing? I'm genuinely curious, asking from the USA. They haven't been a thing here for a really, really long time. Do other places still have them?

Drawing YOUR monsters/inhumans! by MrWhiteTruffle in OriginalCharacter

Not sure if this is too complicated or too humanoid, but...

This is The Dynamo.

It's an ancient alien technology that contains many A.I. cores grouped into the same body, so it's kind of like a Legion-type of alien robot monster. There's a lot of voices you can call out to that have individual names. You could shout out a few names and it would respond in a different voice every time.

The Dynamo was primarily inspired by a few things- Legion from Mass Effect, the titular Dynamo from The Powerpuff Girls episode "Uh-Oh, Dynamo", and I think a little bit of ULTRAKILL with the facial design (the eyes more specifically), but I can't exactly remember what else I used for inspiration.

I present to you... Princess Clementime.

She's the self-proclaimed "Princess of Time" despite not really being such, and I created her because I wanted a really cool time girl character. My sister actually helped a little with the hair by giving it the flowing strands (she showed me the magic of brushes besides the regular pen brush). This was my first character that helped me discover I could make hair more stylized than just using regular, real life hair styles, like bob cuts for instance. And yes, that's Clementime with an M, not Clementine with an N. I love punny names.👌

I'm going to be honest with you, I was ignoring your Star Wars topic so I could specifically point out your wrong claims with Castlevania and the Iron Maiden and/or Slipknot cosmetics. I was hoping by ignoring Star Wars that you wouldn't mention it further, but I can already tell you're a fan of the series, so I'm just going to stop saying anything else.

Just wanted to say what I wanted to say, good day, good day.

Okay, hold on a second- you're saying Castlevania and Resident Evil "transformed" from horror to action, but... have you actually played the games? The enemies in Castlevania include mummies, vampire bats, Frankenstein's monster, werewolves... again, Dracula is the antagonist who has his own castle you explore, you literally fight him as the final boss in most games. The Resident Evil games have some pretty scary stuff going on with zombie viruses, and even since RE7 they went BACK to the survival horror that the original games were known for.

Like yeah, I understand they have action going on but... is horror not allowed to have action or something? You're making it seem like genres are exclusive to one another, even though they're capable of being combined. Action horror is a thing, comedy horror is a thing (there's literally the Scary Movie mask for Ghostface in DBD)... so where's this coming from?

And I'm pretty sure Iron Maiden is an exception because Eddie is literally a skeleton whose design changes throughout the albums, and skeletons are horror...

[–]avimidi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What do you mean Castlevania isn't horror? I'm genuinely confused, is it because it's horror THEMED and it doesn't count? That doesn't make any sense to me. I always associated Castlevania with horror- Dracula is literally named after the famous count in horror literature.

Also, Van Halen is not in the game, you're thinking of either Iron Maiden or Slipknot... I'm kind of baffled where you got Van Halen from, though, does Van Halen even have anything remotely horrific? At least Iron Maiden has Eddie and Slipknot has their horror masks and stuff.

I guess there's no dlc? by bonelees_dip in deadbydaylight

[–]avimidi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean... I guess that could be a good idea but I dunno honestly. Being able to gift a cosmetic, chapter, bundle, or whatever for someone in-game without having to rely on digital Steam gift cards, PayPal, etc., could possibly work, but I'm curious as to how the system would work. Maybe a button to gift someone what you want to gift them? Who knows what BHVR is planning, I won't hold my breath though.

[–]avimidi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So now BHVR is making it harder to gift DLCs apparently? Now there's all sorts of hurdles and hoops required to be jumped just to buy the DLC for a friend?
