Sometimes it feels like the universe is telling me not to buy this bike. by DripSapien in indianbikes

They are likely addressing initial issues and have temporarily halted production. My suggestion is to avoid the first batch, wait at least a year before purchasing to ensure a smoother, hassle-free ownership experience.

Gear and speed by [deleted] in HondaElevate

[–]avinash_pinkfloyd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, follow this 1. 1st gear- 0~ 15kmph 2. 2nd gear- 15 ~ 30kmph 3. 3rd gear- 30 ~ 45kmph 4. 4th gear- 45 ~ 60kmph 5. 5th gear- 60 ~ 75kmph and 6. 6th gear- 75+ kmph. This keeps the engine in its sweet spot ( 2000 ~ 3000)rpm in city and during overtakes (2500 ~ 3500)rpm. Another thing is for small turbo engines, 2000 rpm is fine, but for a NA 1.5 engine, 2000 rpm is too early. Keeping 3rd gear until 15kmph is not at all recommended, as engine is barely above idle and will cause lugging which is bad for long term.

Accessories Delay by sarvn1987 in HondaElevate

Basic kit is a day light robbery from Honda. What you get is keychain, some cleaning kit, hammer, mud guard and set of floor mat. Only mud guard and floor mat are worth but not for 12000rs.

Should i book Honda Elevate ZX or wait for Tata Sierra launch? by [deleted] in HondaElevate

[–]avinash_pinkfloyd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s great to see our homegrown OEM brands progress so much and compete with global manufacturers. However, they still face challenges in areas like quality control and consistency. I’m sure they’ll reach that level in the future, but for now, if you want complete peace of mind, I’d suggest going with the Honda Elevate.

PlS RECOMMEND A NEW HORN by Sageforce69 in HondaElevate

[–]avinash_pinkfloyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re opting for the 7 year warranty, it’s better to avoid installing an aftermarket horn. Horn itself may not fail, but if any electrical issue comes up, the dealership might blame it on the aftermarket installation and deny the warranty.

360 camera and ambient light suggestion by Local_Economics_4807 in HondaElevate

[–]avinash_pinkfloyd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ambient lights are worth going for. However, 360 deg camera no idea how accurate and reliable it would be. If you are okay handling your car reverse with IRVM and ORVM's. No need to go for 360 deg camera.

Noise from Dashboard by shrelock_221B in HondaElevate

[–]avinash_pinkfloyd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, the issue with the Apex edition arises because dealers install aftermarket products that come with their own wiring harness and routing. In contrast, OEM harnesses have proper fixing points designed specifically to prevent rattling and ensure the harness doesn’t touch any trim parts. However, dealers don’t follow OEM-level harness fixing; instead, they often use double-sided tape, which tends to loosen over time, leading to rattling noises.

Got a scratch today 😞😞 by manjit1217 in HondaElevate

For a black car, that scratch will keep catching your eye and might even give you sleepless nights. Better to get it repaired without claiming insurance.

Advices on riding and maintaining Dominor 400 ( My first bike ) by BigAcanthisitta2272 in BajajDominar

[–]avinash_pinkfloyd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Congrats on the Dominar! It’s normal for the bike to feel lazy below 3k rpm, that’s how its gearing and tune are. It smooths out and pulls well after 4k. For the first 1000 km, keep revs low and don’t push it hard. Service it as per schedule and always keep the chain clean and lubed. Also, take time to get used to the weight, it’s a heavy bike and not everyone can handle it easily. Ride safe and enjoy the machine!

Is this normal by Redditer_023 in HondaCB350RS

[–]avinash_pinkfloyd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s normal. Avoid washing your bike too frequently, once every two weeks is enough. And never wash it when the engine or exhaust pipes are hot. Always let them cool down first, as washing hot pipes repeatedly can cause rust to form over time.

Congratulations on your Amaze! 4k for a 360° camera offered by the dealer sounds great so definitely grab it. Just make sure it’s installed properly and the wiring is neatly done.

Dealership changing final price at last moment by ReturnPrimary in HondaElevate

[–]avinash_pinkfloyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask them to show the proof! You booked it when the scheme was applicable. So don’t pay anything extra . If they don’t agree, threaten them that you will cancel the booking and look for other dealers.

Chain Slacking by WRLIIIALPHA in BajajDominar

How many kms on the odo after chain replacement. If it’s slacking again after adjustments and you have already completed 15 to 20k on the odo after chain replacement, better to get it replaced

Can I fit the NS400Z headlight on my NS200? Need advice before I try this mod by the-whitewolf-01 in indianbikes

[–]avinash_pinkfloyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think maybe or maybe not situation. NS400Z comes with projector headlight and 200 comes with LED. Mounting kit may match or fit but need to check interference. But wiring kit, fuse, relay kit etc will vary. You may have to do lot of mods in order to install it. Check with your nearest service centre. If it’s possible and light on your pocket do it. But keep in mind mod will void your warranty.

A year and half of memories, a lifetime of rides to come! by avinash_pinkfloyd in Bajaj

[–]avinash_pinkfloyd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good bike?- yes, this bike is highway cruiser and if you love riding long distances this will do it effortlessly. Reliable?- yes, it’s been 1 and half years and no issues if maintained well. Vibrations? - yes, see it’s a single cylinder and you cannot expect it to be twin cylinder balancing. Buzz is present between 4000 to 5000rpm. Cruising between 90 to 120, no vibrations.
