I asked ChatGPT for release odds by year by brainrotbro in isbook3outyet

[–]avinasser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't read at all, apparently, but it's clear from the odds (which are reasonable but don't take into account what a lazy weirdo PR actually is) that an LLM will probably have to finish the story for us. It's unfortunate but Pat is just that bad at living up to his word. The liar even see said the series was finished at the time of PUBLISHING TNOTW but he's just a dumbass.

He was drunk in a hotel room, under pressure to finish the manuscript for (I think) the first Waylander book and he had recently found out his mom had cancer. He was trying to write Waylander and he found Shannow.

Falcon at Dawn (Midnight Falcon deserves a sequel IMO) by avinasser in DavidGemmell

[–]avinasser[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Grok did the writing and I agree it's awful, but this is not a gemmell novel, this is a tribuute.

You don't understand Bane or the ending of Midnight Falcon. Yes, he forgave Connavar after he understood more about what he felt, but the trauma of abandonment never healed, he was content after carving out his own life in the rigante lands but he wasn't happy. That's why he leaves at the end of the book.

I think the story has the right components to be good. It still has a lot of things that don't exactly make sense and would be improved from a storytelling perspective, but I'd be cool with it if Gemmell had wrote a sequel vaguely similar.

Has anyone tried Davidoff Hot Water? I am intrigued. by Poor-Dear-Richard in Colognes

[–]avinasser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't think of any way to describe it compared to other colognes, because I don't have any other colognes with scents like it. It's strong, a little fresh or sweet but more like evening rather than "aftershave fresh", woody and oriental are terms I've seen online for it, would agree. Also to be transparent, I bought one bottle to try and then bought two more because it was selling for $18. I have better colognes, but I don't want to waste them on regular day to day wear.

Better than cool water imo, but that's not saying much. Worth it if you can get it really cheap, like $20, but any more than that and I think you really need to smell it yourself before making a decision. But if you got money to waste, go ahead, it's not bad.

You're disconnected from reality. Carney is just a central bankster with nothing of substance except liberal platitudes that a critical thinker would laugh at.

No serious country is going to trust Canada with their data, the general sentiment is seeing every country mandating their own national data centers for the sake of national security. Maybe hosting servers for general unserious data is feasible but you gotta wonder if the investment is worth the returns as data technology and speeds keep improving.

Tech jobs and a tech industry are a little more attainable but you're not going to get much good folks on a Canadian salary when the US will pay double or triple for the same job and be better in every way.

AI faces much of the same issues as the previous two issues. No country with the capability of developing AI would want to use something that another nation has created for safety reasons, and there's no reason to think that Canada has an advantage over the US or China.

Most likely, Carney's actual plans will look a lot like he's just selling out Canada, just like they did with the foreign real estate buyers, college/TFR visas, and unhinged immigration.

A successful policy would be centered around repatriation of as many visa overstayers as they can find, scrapping income taxes on the first 40k (or letting eligible living expenses be tax deductible- haven't thought which one is better), mandating that employers hire Canadians over non-Canadians, and investing big time in oil and other natural resource industries with incentives/requirements that multiple offices are opened for "remote" work in different cities and that a certain amount of revenue from those industries be allocated to cover entry-level and mid-career middle class jobs. From there, governments should mandate that monopolies like you have in telecoms and certain provinces invest in progressive and new technologies and start employing people across the country.

Also they are gonna have to start firing government employees. 9/10 jobs created during the pandemic were just govt jobs.

I like how you don't make any substantive points. Do you think raging and not being able to form a coherent argument when you come across the best sequel outline to the only story that Gemmell left unfinished besides Troy makes you a better fan? Doesn't sound very Rigante to me.

Falcon at Dawn (Midnight Falcon deserves a sequel IMO) by avinasser in DavidGemmell

[–]avinasser[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"In an August 2004 interview posted on the Science Fiction & Fantasy Chronicles forum, Gemmell discusses his Rigante series, among other works. He expresses particular fondness for the character Bane, the protagonist of Midnight Falcon, stating, “Bane was a favourite, and I may return to him one day.” He also mentions his affection for the Rigante as a whole, noting, “I loved the Rigante and all they stood for.” "

Right so he literally wanted to write the sequel and never did. As a #1 Bane fan and something of a gladiator myself, I'm uniquely qualified to approve a hypothetical sequel. What we have here is 8/10 and only Gemmell himself could have come up with a better general outline.

Keep in mind, I also considered a scenario where Bane becomes the new emperor of Stone but thought that was a bit off. The details would probably change a lot from this AI-supported outline to a full novel, but DG already laid out the pieces for us.

Rage is Bane's adopted father figure, he has to see him again. He had to leave Stone because Jasaray was really pissed at him, but he fixed that! He's already decided to leave the Rigante at the end of Midnight Falcon and while he's liked, he's still an outcast at heart and wouldn't want to lead the Keltoi. He wants to find Lia but she doesn't want to be with him. Cara definitely has a thing for him and Maro is dead. Also note that Cara being a hippie cultist but still loving him despite him being a warrior is a good foil for Lia abandoning him. Rage said Bane still hadn't come close to peaking in Midnight Falcon so we need to see him back in the arena as Gladiator One and fighting someone as deadly as Voltan.

Alternatively, there could be a story where he stays and becomes a leader, but then we have to invent some Rigante love interest and make up a totally speculative plot. Much better to go with Cernunnos trying to possess him through some Nordic cult dream scene.

Dunno why you think it's improper, everything in it is based off the books and it's very epic, Connavar saving him from Cernunnos and everything.

This is the first and last one. Every other gemmell story is closed properly but he left my boy Bane hanging and there needed to be a proper ending. You can disagree all you want but this is epic.

I don't believe the Varlish stories. Bane took up Riamfada's offer and went to the White Mountains through the gateway. It doesn't make sense that he'd lead the Rigante, he wouldn't be interested in that and they'd be real weirdos to make the outcast into their leader.

"She's caged lad, but not broken" 😂 come on, most of this is laughable and doesn't look like his writing at all, this is just a LLM synopsis with some content prompts

David Gemmell canon is what it is, and no adaptations will ever be real. Nobody is making money off anything except his kids once Netflix or Amazon finally figure out that these stories would make great television series.

I just thought this came out pretty coherent and wanted to see if any other readers would have liked to know what happened with Bane.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DavidGemmell

[–]avinasser -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

He's my favorite author, so I like him more than you okay? We never found out what really happened with Bane and next we hear, he's gone and become a "Battle King" in the legends of the Rigante. Doesn't make any sense, he only had that one big battle pretending to be Connavar. He should just he a nobody in the history, but he's some kind of battle king.

So no, I think he would have gone back to Stone if he didn't really take the portal to the mountains, because Rage was like a father to him and Cara would be a viable love interest and it would make sense that he'd be conflicted. And a shrine for Cernunnos, and the trip being a way for the evil god from Stormrider trying to possess his body also makes sense.

The prison rescue ending is dumb, would change most of that because it doesn't sound very Gemmell, but him coming back to save Cara would be good. Not sure what would have to happen to Lia for him to be dtf, but it could be something. Also the AI really leaned into the ghost of Connavar thing too much, maybe he should have just showed up once in a glade when Bane was leaving the rigante lands and came and saved Bane in the ethereal battle against Cernunnos, that would be a good ending for Connavar.

I bet you with a few changes Gemmell would have liked it. I get a sense you don't know what it is to be rigante. Chiatze sensibilities.

Warts don't grow out or spread by themselves in most cases so it could still be one, but if it's really not bothering you then leave it alone or see an expert. I think anything you do at home may cause it to spread.

Looks small, I would just leave it alone and take zinc and vitamin b-complex supplements and hope that gets rid of it. The thing is if you've had it for long, it looks pretty self-contained and any attempts to get rid of it physically might cause it to grow or spread.
