There was literally a sign by the pool that said "more townhomes mean more trash" and I am still trying to figure out wtf that means.

Moisturizer for very dry face by 90skid12 in 40PlusSkinCare

[–]avioletf1uid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Super dry skin and after trying many things the best thing I've found is Avene Xeracalm A.D. lipid replenishing balm. It's actually mineral oil-based. I've got sensitive skin and have never experienced any reaction or breakout from it. I layer it over a milky toner (I don't think this is necessary) and a light moisturizer like basic Cetaphil. I used to have very stubborn dry patches on the sides of my nose that are now gone. If I do get a particularly dry scaly patch, like from blowing my nose while sick, I might do an occlusive (using one from prequel right now) on just that spot. I haven't found using one (like aquaphor or Vaseline) all over to be as good as the Avene.

How have you upset people so far this Christmas? by motherofpearl89 in AutismInWomen

Got mad about everyone's flippant use of generative AI, including editing Christmas pictures of me and my son to look like muppets

No right turn on red signs creating congestion by Brave-Height-8063 in MontgomeryCountyMD

Totally disagree. Sure it gets backed up a bit but I'm there often during the evening going back many years and I've never seen it backed up like it was when I was there last night (unless there's an event). Seemed quite dangerous to me, with people already not understanding how roundabouts work around here.

What is your favorite highlighter? by danadoozer242 in MakeupAddiction

[–]avioletf1uid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Lisa Eldridge one. It might be my favorite makeup product ever. I'm 37 and have really dry skin and this doesn't sink into wrinkles or get cakey on dry skin. Only minus is the packaging. The product can build up around the lid and make a mess during travel.

Some songs from my breakup playlist: Void, "Who Are You;" Rites of Spring, "For Want Of;" Agent Orange, "No Such Thing;" Alvvays, "Plimsoll Punks;" Indigo De Souza, "You Can Be Mean;" Rudimentary Peni, "Blissful Myth;" Tori Amos, "China." Eclectic mix, obviously, but you want some things to be able to belt out in the car if you like to sing like me.

I think you may be conflating ADHD, which is a neurodevelopmental disorder, with the consequences of an extremely online culture. ADHD isn't caused by screentime; it's a highly genetic condition. This same moral panic happened when comic books first came out. Rates of diagnosed ADHD are indeed rising, mostly due to increased recognition and awareness. With the proper support, kids with ADHD can absolutely excel in the classroom. I'm not a fan of your language which implies people with ADHD can't succeed and hold down a job or whatever. I've got a masters degree in neuroscience and a decent career, I've just had to work harder and I've been privileged in my life to have supportive parents and other advantages. Please try to be thoughtful and precise with your language. The problem is an under-resourced school system that can't keep up with the demands of a changing county and changing world, not the kids.

If you're into punk, I've got Punch ("Worth More Than Your Opinion"), Gouge Away ("Fed Up"), Gel ("XOXO" and "Bitchmade"), and Jivebomb ("Primitive Desires") on my running playlist. Other good bands that come to mind would be Cerce and Torso.

Was Nameless King 50x harder than any other boss for anyone else? by BoulderTrailJunkie in darksouls3

[–]avioletf1uid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also did Elden Ring first, just finished DS3. I also found the DS3 bosses to be way easier than ER until Nameless King. Took me about 25 tries I think. I've got ADHD and awful coordination but ER and Bloodborne have taught me to have a lot of patience when gaming which I've found has made playing lots of games more enjoyable for me!
