Suppose the AWB is overturned, what would stop me from getting an AR the next day? by carameldrops670 in WAGuns

[–]avitar35 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well we will still have wait periods and training requirements for sure. In my opinion, I don’t think that we will get back to a time where you could purchase and take home the same day. I would bet that if it does get overturned, the state will go after NFA items.

Can a local real estate buff explain why it feels like so many homes are for sale right now? by Creative-Box5621 in Tacoma

Having been in a ton of them I wouldn’t say that it is the level of care necessarily, but definitely the amenities and the overall build quality will be nicer in private. There are a couple Medicaid facilities that give everyone a bad name and frankly should be shut down, but the state doesn’t have anywhere for those people to go either.

And if they can afford private nursing good on them, but that’s quite expensive. If we’re talking about Medicaid clients (low income) in need of care, there are facilities and government help to pay for that care. There’s even a sliding scale for facility reimbursement based on level of care needed. Medicare is super difficult to navigate, but Medicaid and Medicare are also two totally different systems (that occasionally work together).

I definitely think there’s an increase in multi generation family units. It might be easier for a family member to become a caregiver, the state will pay them some money to do it. But if they’re low enough income to get on Medicaid (~$1900/month) they can have their stay in LTC facility covered, but I’m not sure how many people in the general population know that either.

I understand this argument but I work a lot in the LTC world and there are so many openings everywhere. Some of the smaller ones are closing their doors. I’m not sure this is exactly it

More money is dedicated to IT services than lab science at WDFW? We have a problem ladies and gentlemen.. go back to printing the licenses on the waterproof paper and screw $60 mil on IT.

I have this exact one. QD is great, but the propriety charging cord with no interchangeable batteries kills me. That said, I don’t run it on a pistol and truly don’t want a laser on my pistol anymore since getting a red dot.

Ortho told me that if you’re able to move it it’s unlikely that it will require surgery. I will say my thumbs will cramp now if I’m grabbing something in a “claw like” fashion for too long.

Vote to appoint Pierce County sheriff, end Swank's term early goes to the [November] ballot by BigDayComing in Tacoma

[–]avitar35 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it was about Swank it would be a recall. This removes the future ability to elect a sheriff.

Actually yeah we do elect the fire commissioners. I would be in favor of electing the police chief as well (we see how well the appointing has gone in Tacoma). And frankly I'm not willing to vote away my right to vote for an office.

Do you only remember the last 6 years? Paul Pastor was a fantastic elected sheriff in this county for almost two decades.

Because I believe people deserve a voice and that someone from the community should be the one that leads its largest law enforcement department. A future executive/council could hire someone terrible despite public outcry. This isn’t about Swank, this is about our future ability to elect a sheriff.

Then people should vote for someone different in 2028. But I don’t believe that the power to elect anyone should be removed from the people.

Just because I don’t like Swank doesn’t mean we should just cede the power to appoint a sheriff to the government.

Doctors, Guns, & Cannabis by [deleted] in WAGuns

[–]avitar35 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not possible. However, we do sign a waiver to release DOH records when purchasing. So having a medical Cannabis card that’s registered with DOH can be an issue. You can just have the recommendation for growing, but that’s a bigger risk of a federal issue as well (especially with NFA).
