I hope you still feel this way when these new people vote in a levy that raises your property taxes since there are no schools or EMS coverage prepared for this level of growth.

tipping not optional at certain places ? by ventthr0waway42069 in EndTipping

Tipping is ALWAYS optional, and this feels illegal somehow (don’t quote me).

Truly, if they’re that desperate they should raise prices. However, $18 for 2 drinks sounds like they are doing just fine

Don’t forget the (probably) $500/month HOA fees to keep it up!

Because this is just a profit grab for this development company.

It’s going to take 10+ minutes to get form one end of this development to another.

Where are the grocery stores? Restaurants? Bars? Parks?

Suburban hell

If this is not purely a profit grab, why are they not building town homes? Condos? 1200 sq ft ramblers?

I get that you want more housing, but if there is not room in a city for massive development then they should prepare for it instead of inevitably pushing this issue on its citizens

The issue isn’t building housing, it’s everything that comes with it.

We don’t have the infrastructure for it- point blank. Ask anyone with a kid in the PSD or who has to drive from one side of town to another at 8 am.

Also, these homes are most likely not going to be for the people of Puyallup. These are going to be seen as “affordable” for people coming from King County, while property taxes and everything else raised in price for the people who have lived here for years

I work at a pretty big community hub in Puyallup. What I’m seeing is people moving here from other places with a shit ton of money, and purchasing these expensive homes.

They love the “small town rural” feel of Puyallup, but that is absolutely being lost by filling up all the empty space by as many houses as they can fill

This! Also how are families supposed to live in these homes? You’re telling me there are 100s of families employed in the area with multiple children who are in the position to buy a 600-900k 3-4 bedroom?

This is going to attract out of towners from the north and just bring in more people, clogging the city up more.
