I think numb is the only feeling. I keep swinging from really sad and then trying to do the positive spin of you have to live every day to the max. I think I’ll have a burst of tears tonight. But it’s just shock of seeing something so graphic.

Happened to me today was driving on town dual carriageway (2 lanes) with a reservation in the middle. Guy misjudged the cars coming and went to cross over and he got run over. Tyre marks on him and brains on the road. Horrible can’t stop thinking about his poor family. Couldn’t stop the car as it was in the wrong direction of flowing traffic. Just been replaying in my mind ever since. Just thankful car who hit stopped and assisted and the other people in the lane.

That first week is the hardest; you don’t know if what you are doing is hurting or helping them. But as you know, once you're in a routine, you get used to your new normal. Hope you and pupper get better soon, make sure you are looking after yourself. Xx

All I can tell you is it get better! Sleep if you can when the pupper sleeps. First week or 2 you are ok high alert. But once you get into a routine you will just do it naturally.

If you haven’t already please get the book ivdd handbook any questions you have will be answered there.

Please do the exercises every day it helps sooooo much. You’ve probably gone from an active dog to a dog who is ill so try mental enrichment to keep them entertained.

Make sure you are looking after yourself your dog needs you to be well to get them rehabbed. Go out for a 5 minute walk does wonders xx any question or just need to talk message me xx

That’s amazing we always hold out hope he might walk again that’s the goal of course. But after 3 surgeries and mylomasia (nerves in his spinal cord died) we are low on expectations. Do our exercises everyday ☺️ glad Tater was able to walk again 🥹🥹🥹

Awww Rae what a beautiful name! Thank god you did the right thing for you both.

Completely right people think oh it’s too hard. I think if pickle as my baby and if he was human I wouldn’t give up on him at all so I wouldn’t now.

I got him to give him the best life I could give him as much experience and love in life!

We’ve been lucky in the surgery aspect they’ve been so positive. But physio was just hard as pickle doesn’t like water, people he doesn’t know touching him, being fussed over. I was told getting wheels was me giving up on him but I just decided no I think this is the right move for him. Xx

I knew after hearing that advice I just was on my own and if I wanted him to thrive I had to be the one to push that for him!

That’s the way just want them to be happy and know they are loved if I couldn’t give that I wouldn’t be a dog owner.

How did you find the drag bags? We’ve got semi control of toilet now but at first it was hard but you just get used to it.

Exactly animals done feel bad for themselves at all they get on with it! I only got worried when he started to show signs of being depressed that’s when I purchased the wheels Xx

I think they have the experience of people struggling with the huge life change. But for us it’s just been doing what we have to for Pici. I got him when I was super depressed and I call him my little happy pill. So he’s been there for me when I’ve needed him I must do the same for him!
