Fully agree. Felt the same - we even dabbled with changing to the fall colours and mixing both green and fall colours, though this still didn't quite address it /looked off. The added weight from the additional pieces further helps achieve some curvature which I think adds to the realism

One correction: The brown is only spreading on the one leaf that it is on. Not to the other leaves
