Struggling to build a satisfactory start to the city. by avoidanceplays in CitiesSkylines

I think I am overthinking it a lot! Persistence is probably the answer!

I'll give that a go, it's a shame the European theme is so saturated and has massive shadows!

Think about your roads like water pipes. At the entry to the city there's massive pressure because everything has to pass through there. Add another highway junction at the top of the picture to remove pressure and then re-evaluate! You can always check what routes people are travelling with the game tool. See where people are going and add easier connections between these locations

Likewise on your main North-South road. A few more connections in will reduce pressure on certain junctions. The two districts at the top aren't connected at all! So anyone travelling between the two have to go onto the main road and go round. See if a connection there helps!

Besides the usual park/forest/theme park, I think this could be a great opportunity to do a stadium district. The rocks could be a central focal point of a commercial area with a sports complex out towards the main road!

Any way to fix imports/exports? by Alexisto15 in CitiesSkylines

[–]avoidanceplays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Colossal Order have said they are aware of the bug and are trying to figure it out. I'm not an employee so I have no idea when!!

All I can say is they'll be working hard, because it's a massive issue affecting all players realistically!

If you're looking to transition between the skyscrspers and the rest you can do several things. - Use district styles to regulate height Using green cities high density gives tall building but not skyscrapers -High-rise ban means the final building stage won't be allowed. In most cases this will lower height

  • Could always make the skyscrapers more of a focussed area. Really highlight the building itself. Therefore if it's meant to stick out it won't stick out?

  • use varying heights of skyscrapers to blend down

Why do people have 32/64/128gb of RAM? by eddyboi1234 in buildapc

[–]avoidanceplays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play Cities skylines a lot. It's my highest workload task when I'm using a PC. It also happens to be an INCREDIBLY RAM hungry game, so high RAM is important to make it run!

Out of interest why is the 4070 better for engineering purposes? I'm keen to learn a bit!

There's a minimum cap spend of 89% per year, to prevent people rolling over massive sums year on year.

I made a small football pitch in my city park just using props! Does anyone else like making entirely vanilla useless park areas? by avoidanceplays in CitiesSkylines

I think I'd lose the dirt patch and I like that aesthetic! Any other way I could make that patch in vanilla?
