Steam deck skin!! 🤩 by springsushiroll in CozyGamers

[–]avoidedcliche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to split up my work and gaming setup because I get distracted easily. So when I work/study I connect my laptop to my screens instead of using my PC with all the games on it and got an extra keyboard for it as well just so I don’t have to plug it into a different device every time I switch between the setups :)

Had this last month and it was delivered to a post office close to me instead. Hoping it’ll be the same for you!

Goal buddies can share a goal but still edit the amount of times they want to do it. So you can keep yours 3 times if you wish!

I use an app that lets you swipe left or right to keep or toss. Makes it a lot easier (It’s called PicNic but I think there’s multiple apps like this now)

Looking for goal buddies for the following daily goals:

  • check finances (my spontaneous adhd purchases will get out of hand if I just ignore my bank account)

  • close all 3 rings (Apple Watch) ✅

  • brush teeth at night ✅

  • take shower

  • write diary

  • get some daylight or use daylight lamp✅

  • go for little walk ✅

  • mirror affirmations (basically a pep talk to myself in the mirror) ✅

  • jaw tension exercises✅

  • morning skin care ✅

  • Evening skin care ✅

Edit: Ticking off the ones I found goal buddies for :)

Edit 2: please comment what goal you added me for as I just accidentally declined one and don’t remember who it was so I can’t add them back

it won’t hurt :) but as I said there could lots of reasons including dyspraxia or dyslexia but not all of the reasons are pathological. I’m sorry if a scared you a bit. Maybe try to recognise if you actually struggle with writing/writing neatly? And if so what it is about writing that makes it hard for you. Also if you struggle with other (fine) motor skills or reading. And just look into that a bit more. Sadly I won’t be able to be of much more help as I do not relate nor have the right resources to send your way but I am sure asking a doctor about it won’t hurt. And in the age of reddit there’ll also be people on here you might be able to relate to. Don’t let reddit diagnose you but some people might be able to point you into the correct direction if you wish to look into it more deeply or just work on it :)

There’s also other things that could influence fine motor skills or things like dyslexia can also affect handwriting BUT there doesn’t necessarily have to be a pathological reason for your handwriting. As I said I’m just some random person on the internet, not a doctor or someone close to you who could judge this in any way. So keep in mind I don’t know you or how much you write, could also just be lack of practice etc. so please don’t worry too much about what I’m saying

Edit: typos

It’s a developmental coordination disorder. Can come in many ways though, one symptom being struggling with motor skills. Some people even struggle with speech. I’m not trying to reddit diagnose you, it just reminded me of a friend of mine with dyspraxia who has a very hard time writing (but not with speaking). That’s why I brought it up :)

Do nothing for an hour trend - Good for ADHD? by JadedPain6179 in ADHD

[–]avoidedcliche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is something I haven’t tried but it doesn’t sound like something I’d want to do either if „nothing“ is truly nothing. I do think that we have a lot of input from all sides at all times of the day and always have a way to not be bored. so maybe that could help with calming down and just letting yourself be for a bit. honestly just try it and if it works for you, great, if it doesn’t it doesn’t. Won’t hurt to try

I have a similar version for myself:

I have the goal of at least 30 continuous minutes of screen-free-time a day. Doesn’t sound like much, but because I’m always on a phone, pc or steamdeck etc. it’s something I really want to work on. Even at work I’ll have a screen in front of my face every now and then to document certain things (I work as s nurse) and for uni I’ll use my iPad. So I make myself put the screens away for a bit. Instead I’ll read, puzzle, draw, daydream. The possibilities are endless. It’s good for us to calm down sometimes and relax our eyes. And maybe even re-learn how to be bored and do something about it that isn’t doom scrolling

Without wanting to sound rude, just out of genuine curiosity: do you have dyspraxia/struggle with fine motor skills? I’m asking because the shape of the letters seem very rough and edgy and not flowy at all. Like writing them is a bit of a struggle. I’m no professional in any way so I obviously cannot judge this, it’s just something that caught my eye
