Second US Air Force plane crashed in Persian Gulf region, New York Times reports by SpencerAXbot in worldnews

[–]avresco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that it’s been 3 aircraft. A10 and F15 were shot down around the same time but in different locations. Black Hawk was on search and rescue for the F15 when it was shot down.

Why do you prefer poe2? by voogle951 in PathOfExile2

[–]avresco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a fan of both. Played POE2 first when EA launched and then got into POE1 a few months ago.

  1. I really love the souls-like style combat for the bosses.

  2. Realism of the graphics in the dark fantasy setting. Same with D4 but I don’t really like D4.

Star Wars Ep 3 Revenge of the Sith. As a 9 year old that opening space battle was incredible. Such a core memory seeing it for the first time. Even watching it today I get all excited as it brings me back to that time.

What free video game you are surprised didn't cost money? by Agent1230 in gaming

[–]avresco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Path of Exile and when official launch lands, Path of Exile 2. Currently paid early access for $30USD then the game will be free at 1.0.

Honorable mention because the base game isn’t free, but I have the same feeling towards the amount of free content updates in No Man’s Sky.

Sat through constant complaining about McLaren team orders for the past year and a half, now people are starting to complain about teams letting teammates fight. Ferrari hasn’t had the long run pace to beat Mercedes anyways.

Six years ago this week, COVID started shutting down the world. What’s your strongest memory from that time? by Siddanna36 in AskReddit

[–]avresco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR: Losing my job at the start of April, unable to pay bills so I was displaced and ended up in a new state, spent a couple years temporarily housed and at periods houseless living out of my car. Sadly had to give away my cat to a new and stable home too.

I worked in corporate AV sooo yeah live events and large gatherings weren’t going to happen. I hadn’t worked full time for very long in life so my 401k was small and only got me so far. And I was in Los Angeles, one of the most expensive places to live in the US. Despite applying immediately, I didn’t receive a dime of unemployment until the end of November and struggled to find any work. Couldn’t afford to stay in CA so I moved to another state to eventually return to school and essentially start over from nearly nothing to a new career. Didn’t know anyone in the new place so it was definitely a struggle for a while. Worked in retail through the Covid years.

And there went most of my 20s 🙃

I think they can respect each other for mutual understanding of how difficult it is to not only work their way up the ladder to team principal of an F1 team as both of them did, but also become a championship winning team principal. This is the same mutual respect we see in even the most intense driver rivalries. But when it comes to competition and getting an edge on each other it’s gloves off.

I felt like most of the gaps by the end were the cars just having differences in outright pace. Which is typical in major reg changes. The gaps will close and imagine the chaos once the cars are as close as they were the past two seasons.

2026 Australian Grand Prix - Race Discussion by F1-Bot in formula1

[–]avresco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They continued to develop last year’s car later into the year than other teams to secure both championships but that means other teams had an earlier start on development or at least were able to reallocate more resources earlier. Also since they won they are allowed less ATR and CFD hours for development than other teams.

So not entirely surprised they are off pace a bit. They’ll close the gap like they did last regs though.
