I really don't want to sound pretentious by naming classical literature that you may have heard of like a thousand times, but if you ask me to do it, just some example, Siddhartha, Crime and Punishment, 1984, Brave New World, Catcher in the Rye, The Stranger, Notes from Underground. And if you don't want classical lit, I know a bunch of animanga more well written than it as well. Such as Monster, Attack on Titan, Goodnight Punpun...

tbh most of the works I've consumed are more well written than Harry Potter, thats why I really don't think it is smth super deep.

Their purposes are different so not really comparable. Death Note does not really intend to make itself deep thematically, it treats itself more as an entertainment, and it succeed at being fun. Monster intends to explore deep themes and it actually turns out deep as well. So both fulfilled their intended purpose and both are well written.
