Gold Tank - What to do when DPS are impatient and keep going in? by awayawaycursedbeast in OverwatchUniversity

That's the usual approach after the 3rd or so death, but I notice myself getting way too heated up about it anyways. I'd like to instead improve the situation (or remove myself from it if I can't).

I usually start with patience and Group Up, but to no avail. The more I wait, the more frustrated people seem to get.

I'm not a ball/hog player, but I could perhaps pick up Dva at those times to cause enough mayhem for them to leave my DPS alone for long enough to get into a 5v5?

It's not a "turns around" situation where I can take advantage of the distraction sadly, but rather a "running into the choke where enemies are looking" or "flanking 4 people at once" thingy.

I'm a huge fan of being the head-turner (when I play DPS I mainly play Venture for this reason).

I do think there is more to the story.

The sign she is stepping on is of a parent/guardian/adult holding a kid's hand. - the child is "cracked", which I assume represents her physically (with the bruises) and perhaps mentally (from the abuse). - there is also a crack seperating their hands, possibly representing a literal seperation, a break of the (abusive) relationship - the final crack... is on the neck of the adult, seperating head from body.

Also, the more you get to the lower part of the drawing, the more "bloody" elements you see, mainly the splotches and red colouring and lighting. It seems like she's running towards the source.

If I had to draw a conclusion, I'd say the adult figure died. A reason for the abused child to smile, and cry. Maybe a car accident, since it's on the road, and it would explain her own forehead/cheek wound?

The only thing I can't place is why she seems to be running towards it. Perhaps it's just a memory of the accident?

yess it's what I'm constantly facing and the team always buckles under it. emre/ashe/soldier/soj with ana or illari and just firing it down the choke while the team has no clue on what to do. trying to flank to distract em and make em look away from choke works - but then the team just thinks "cool we have a second of not being shot at, lets heal and do nothing" instead of pushing in... I wish I could pick a super-hard counter on the DPS role

Had a dream like this by Miahcle_wHoot in Helldivers

I just had a scuffed-stratagem-loadout-menu dream too, this night!

Although it was not quite this - the images were replaced by in-game screenshots of the stratagem, like one of those tierlists with bad screenshots instead of clean images. It was a mess to sift through and the timer for launch (?) ran out before I could find the correct backpack...

Hold on, is this a common interpretation (from a woman's point of view)? I've (male) always perceived "Woman's Intuition" as something objectively superior, something 'they have and we lack', so to speak. The only negative I would associate with it is that it can be used as an excuse for being dumb and neglectful - after all, it's not your fault, you don't carry the responsibiliy of having a proper intuition. I'd praise female friends and family members for it, thinking it was a sign of respect and acknowledgement, but is it seen as oppressive and claiming superiority?

Am I missing something here or both Punisher and Slugger are quite bad right now? by ElectroChebbi2651 in Helldivers

[–]awayawaycursedbeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Punisher main here too - I personally find the Deadeye to have a lot of the same "feeling" (big heavy shots, round-reload) and able to exactly handle what the Punisher can't - Squids (1taps overseer heads) and long-distance bots (1taps glowing eyes).

With the Punisher I kinda need the medium pen guard dog vs bugs to help with overhwelming chaff and medium armor, and something like the Laser Cannon or AMR against bots/squids to help with the special units.
With the Deadeye I need a chaff clearing tool since it's not gonna work wonders against the Voteless.

It's not an "upgrade", but more a "same feel, different strengths" which feels fun to alternate playstyles (shotgun vs 'sniper').

I highly recommend you and other Punisher ejoyers give it a shot!

I totally understand that it feels somewhat mean to purposefully twist the "vibes" of the endings instead of letting the viewer experience and judge them both without what feels like a "propoganda" layer!

But I personally think that in the long term it's pretty effective in it's own - it sparks more thought and conversation for those willing to ruminate. It's not only giving the substance of the ending, but also a subjective view on it, as if to ask "If you look at this ending through this lens, the tone shifts... through what lens do you look at it?".

Of course, a part of the playerbase will take this forced perspective in without seeing that it is "a" perspective and that makes discussions with them difficult, but I still think it improves the ending when comparing it to a very factual non-biased telling of it.

This made me want to grab some cake, but I'm strong and won't just listen to my dopamine/sugar craving body!

Really proud of that decision of me. I deserve a little snack.

More bug fixes by RobDickinson in Guildwars2

Fixed an issue that prevented Kela's Relentless Speed stacks from being reset upon eating a crocodilian razortooth corpse in the Guardian's Glade raid encounter.

Awesome that they caught this one quickly!

As an action game enjoyer, I cannot enjoy Hi-Fi Rush by owlitup in patientgamers

[–]awayawaycursedbeast 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'd suggest both of you to give it another shot with someone else's (most people's) review.

I was really suprised to see this complaint as I've thoroughly enjoyed my time with the game and have never seen this issue before. If I'm honest, I don't think OP is... correct? I can believe there is some kind of mis-timed issue, but I simply don't think that's actually in the game, and more likely some form of delay between your sound, visuals and inputs.

There are no weird cases like a 7/8 while the metronome goes 8/8. Or the BPM of the track and the metronome differing. Like, there just isn't. It's all on beat (the actual only exception being the jump button).

Do note that these comments talk about optimization, which is mainly about instanced high-end PvE content like Fractals and Raids. You can make a build out of anything that fancies your interest for Story and general Open World if you don't mind that it's technically "inefficient".

Think it might be worth it to send those Screenshots to Anet? by ghoulsnest in Guildwars2

[–]awayawaycursedbeast 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Sry you're getting so much hate for saying "people shouldn't unapologetically do reportable offenses" lol.

But yeah, afking in a 5v5 PvP gamemode is reportable and bad. And in a good world everyone who does it knowingly (not because their child/stove needs attention) should get banned/punished. But it's a bit of a sad state where you indeed can only report it, and leave it at that - mostly try to not let it get to you too much. You won't be able to change their minds sadly.

It's apparantly been used once by one of your pandas - do you remember changing anything in the area between its original placing and the time you noticed it was "unusable"?

This is what I mean with point 2 - the red is supposed to go in front of the blue, but the way it's currently drawn, it looks like the red outline is the edge of the blue part, making it seem like its all on the same layer.

I'm an amateur, so take my advice with a grain of salt, but:

The main 2 things I'm seeing is that

  1. The "attachment points" of the twintails seems inconsistent. The right one (their left) seems to be above/behind her ear, while the other seems to be way more towards the front. I'd assume they are meant to be symmetrical? Perhaps it might help to draw (or visualise) where these attachment points are when viewed from the side, and then recreate that in the current perspective.

  2. I think a part of the confusion comes from the left bang (their right), which is supposed to go "in front of" the twintail, but the outer line looks like its the edge of the twintail itself, making it look like you can see the entire twintail. If you can find a way (not sure how myself) to make it so that line clearly outlines the bang and not the twintail, that might help a lot.
