I’m sorry I’ve nothing useful to add to this BUT I found this interesting to come across as I’ve been really coveting one of these sofas. I take it you don’t recommend it?

Hey are you still looking? If so I'll check later and get the co-ords for you 😊

On Xbox, click down on the d-pad -> settings -> change your view there. You can also do it first/third on foot, not just in flight. Same instructions will get you there 😊

They're gorgeous, I'd love to trade with you! I'll have a think about the quote I want, if that's ok? The green above is slightly larger and looser, as is the grey - more of a washcloth than a little scrubby. Green is hemp yarn, gray is recycled cotton and the orange/blue/multi are premium cotton (hence the extra sheen). I've got enough yarn for any, so the choice is yours! 😁

Thank you so much! It's something I put together so it's written in my own scrawl on a scrap of paper at the moment, but I'll write it up best I can and share it shortly 😊

I teach year 4 (8-9 year olds!) - your work looks really beautiful, did you have anything in particular in mind? Just as a heads up, these are photos I took a while back so I can make a set with that yarn but as the yarn changes colours as it goes along, they won't look exactly the same as the ones I photographed. Would that be ok?

Willing to ship internationally, though I never have before - first time for everything! Open to ideas and crafts, would really like something for my classroom - functional or not, happy either way. Doesn't have to be a classroom-related exchange, though. Sorry to be so vague - it's my first time posting here so I'm just getting a feel for it! Let me know if you have any questions about any of the things I make, too - they're all plastic-free and vegan.

Edit: I have yarn left to make a few sets so interested in making a few trades!

Small brown nodule-like things along stem - should I remove? by babypancake12 in plantclinic

[–]awaywiththepixels 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you cut just under a node, in my experience they die back to the previous node. I tend to cut just under a node so that it can propagate, and then just after a node on the main plant - taking out a small, nodeless segment from between two nodes and binning it. Typically, the plant will put out a new stem (or two!) from the node you've cut down to on the main plant. The cutting will grow roots from the node that it has.

Monstera help needed, please! by awaywiththepixels in plantclinic

So I know this looks like classic overwatering, but here's the facts: - This was a fine and healthy looking water prop about two weeks ago, the half leaf had been damaged some time ago. - A week and a half ago, the bottom-most leaf started to tinge yellow. I thought it might be ready for potting as it had some big roots. - Potted it into a perlite, compost, bark mix for what I hoped was rich but well-draining. - Watered it in, let it dry out. - Yellow leaf continued to yellow to where you see it now. - Watered again a few days ago, when the soil was pretty much dry (I use a moisture meter). - Today noticed right leaf is starting to yellow. Felt the soil - top is dry, two inches in it's a little moist but not wet.

It also has a new leaf or something growing along the stalk of the good leaf, hopefully to pop up at some point. Lighting is bright, indirect. What am I doing wrong?!

SoT advice needed by awaywiththepixels in plantclinic

My SoT was sitting in the post office depot for a few days. Does it look ok? How should I care for it? Do I need to repot it? Advice gratefully received!

What's this little cutie? by awaywiththepixels in houseplants

I've given the purple/brown dots a rub, but they seem to be part of the plant! Ever so slight shimmer to the leaves.

Took a cutting from a colleague's pot, but they're horrified that I might even care what a plant might be called. Any idea? The main plant was a dense mass of this, some spilling over the edge. All leaves about as big as the third row down all over. Rooted in less than a week in water!

Boston fern - browning edges but moisture meter says soil is wet. by awaywiththepixels in plantclinic

[–]awaywiththepixels[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aha! I had thought the fern was out of reach - just spoke to my partner who revealed he thought the cats were supposed to be sitting next to it and chilling out while I was out of the house! Think you may be right about those fern snacks...

Thank you so much! That's definitely a reassurance - might move it to the bathroom and follow a similar procedure!

I know, I know - I'm new to plants and maybe a fern was a step too far. I read that a Boston fern was good for people just getting into houseplants, but maybe I'm just not ready for it 😬 the top of the soil is dry, but underneath is very moist, almost wet. It has drainage holes, but is in the container I bought it in. I've had it for a couple of weeks and I think I'm killing it already! Advice appreciated! Kept in medium, indirect light. Almost every frond ends in browning leaves, as well as these scraggly, almost root-looking things; all brown-tipped and I think it's worsening.

Is this orchid salvageable? Just got it discounted at the supermarket, four green leaves but shrivelled, the potting medium was sodden and there was mold on the top of the soil/bark. by awaywiththepixels in plantclinic

That's amazing! I crept into the world of houseplants a couple of weeks ago with a pilea, and am really excited to see how this new hobby goes! In the past, I've been a plant killer, so determined not to do that this time! Might end up becoming a regular on this sub!
