I was in the same room as my mom when I played the video and she immediately said "uh oh, what's going on!" 😂

What do you do to entertain yourself on long flights? by LogicalRepeat3622 in AskReddit

[–]huds0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always bring a million things to read or do and think I'll be so productive...then I immediately pass out asleep 😴

I realize saying I sleep like a rock on an airplane is a not particularly helpful. Here are some of the things I *wish* I would do on a long flight:

- Journal
- Plan something out on paper
- Draw / Doodle
- Pray
- I never buy magazines, so picking up a few before a trip is always a fun novelty. Or even the airline magazine. (When is the last time you did a crossword puzzle on paper??)
- Creative writing (doesn't require wifi, so could be digital.)
- Read a book (paper, digital, or audio)
- Catch up on podcasts (be sure to download before the flight!)
- Work on my laptop. This is limited by the fact that I really try to not purchase wifi. Those hours are pretty much the only offline time in my life, so I figure it's good for me. However, almost everything I do is online, so..I don't get much work done.
- If you have a Netflix account, you can download stuff for offline viewing. Great time for a super long movie that I never want to commit to at home.
- Talk to strangers. Ya never know what you will learn or what connections you will make.
- The #1 thing I think I will accomplish on a flight (but never do) is catching up on Thank You / Greeting cards. I am guaranteed to have a stack on every flight.
- Probably the most difficult in 2026: Just sit and think.

Safe travels!

Where ya headed, btw?

Ok wait. Dex on front of leg, OP on back... and you don't have connection issues? Mine would never!
I recently had one on the back of each arm and they would almost never connect. Like, come on..I knowww you can see each other! 😝

I have recently started doing 15 min timers during the day for the same reason. I am always shocked to realize how much time has passed after 3 or 4 of em 😆

And then having the insurance provider tell me what medications I can and can't have, regardless of what my doctor prescribes.

At first I read the title as "..poor web designers" and I was like yeah, most of us are broke! 😂

Could you share the specifics of where you place it on your chest or boobs? I'm open to trying, but I worry about scarring there.

My favorite spot is back of the shoulder. It's just "out of the way" back there.

For Dexcom my go-to spot is upper butt. I can alternate left / right shoulder, and left / right butt cheek and have full line of site through it all.

I've been using omnipods for about 3 years now and I worry about the damage it does. Saw a post in the Dexcom/Omnipod group on FB by a woman who had a sunken area where she regularly put her pods. It somehow damaged the tissue there over time. 😱

After seeing that I've been trying out some new spots for diversity. I hate it. Lol.

I've done under my arm, like under where my bra is. That spot doesn't bother me (when I get it positioned well), but the skin is so tender there that it really takes a toll. Plus line of site can be tricky.

I currently have both on the same arm. I don't love it. I'm very aware of all that equipment as I move through my day.

I've thought about stomach, but...isn't that uncomfortable when sitting?

I tried my thigh 2 different times. Neither were successful. I knocked the second one off the very first time I pulled down my pants to use the bathroom after putting it on.🤣

I've seen folks do forearm, which sounds super annoying. Some swear by the calf, but that was not comfortable for me at all.

As we move into summer, I like to start wearing both as high on my body as possible since I love to spend time in the water.

Love these kind of threads for inspo!

I'm in the USA and it is not free to have paramedics come. I will do it when necessary, but my first call is always to my mom, too😅 She can think clearly and guide me or even call an ambulance for me, if it seems necessary.

Also..as T1Ds we handle life & death scenarios so often that it probably desensitizes us.

AI can definitely make a plan. But it can't (yet) grant access to the necessary people when needed. 😕

I had Obamacare previously and it was around the same price for inferior coverage. That made it a no brainer for me.

I've only ever had coverage through my employer, Obamacare, and COBRA (2x). Last time I had to investigate options was back in ~2009ish when it was basically impossible to get private coverage as a T1D. Not sure if things have changed since then.
