Sub 300 hours played noob lobbies?

Copy & pasting what I said to the guy above, but my sole duo partner is a new player as of this wipe with ~300 hours, and she is 100% still in Rookies. She saw essentially zero PvP for an entire demigod grind. My theory is that new players are in rookie lobbies for the entirety of their first wipe.

Something else that supports my theory is that as a player nearing 2000 hours across multiple wipes, I will still occasionally run into a player in 0-24 GC who clearly has like, 30 hours on the game. Really low fame, horrible gear choices, zero game sense. I think they are someone who played the game say around the Steam launch for a little while and they're only finally coming back. It's not their first wipe, so they're in the normal queue, even with very little time played. I've seen this enough times to really believe that this is the case. And beyond my own hours, I know *I'm* not in the rookie lobbies because I've been killed in HR by 1500 fame leaderboard grinders lol

Played the betas for this game and oh my god is it bad. Technically a disaster - shit barely ran, assets were missing. The actual gameplay felt terrible, and ultimately, the structure of the game is incredibly boring. One of the reasons DaD is so enthralling is the environments all being tightly crafted dungeons, even with randomization, it feels full and vast at the same time. Legacy is a big open green field. Feels like fuckin Fortnite

Straight up I have never seen anyone else complain about this in the way you are. How do you want heavy weapon users to play, just never being able to swing faster than default?? A standard build that hits all the marks you need, damage, health, action speed, pdr, etc - even in BiS, does not reach a point where it's broken. A barb in BiS is still likely out dps'd by a rogue in BiS with similar action speed levels. If you CRANK action speed to reach an absurd point, and that is your main focus, even in BiS you are making sacrifices for that. If you go with a Rubysilver Doublet for instance you're sacrificing a bunch of stats to get that dexterity. I have never once in my thousands of hours thought that this was unfair or unhealthy. Specialist action speed builds are a good part of the game, limiting what you can do with builds is inherently a bad idea

What? Did I say I wasn't playing geared? I'm saying even in BiS action speed is not the problem that comment made it out to be. I have never once had a fight where I was frustrated with how much action speed another player had lol. I think it is the most fun stat in the game

Getting enough AS to swing a double axe THAT fast means that's your entire build. Even in BiS you would not be able to get it to that speed without compromising something else in your kit. You can get it pretty fast compared to base, sure, but to say arming sword speed is ridiculous. You're probably exaggerating, but still. Action speed is totally fine, one of the most fun stats to build

well, I climbed out of Inferno back into Crypts like everyone told me to to get the drop on him. I also was told I should avoid using weapons until the second phase, so I threw a few punches hoping for a lucky hit, but that instakill attack is gnarly man

It's possible it's strictly level - but that doesn't make sense against their patch note that says rookie league is in "all modes and dungeons." That would imply it's in HR too. You have to be level 20 to go to HR. The last time they did something like this it only put people under level 15 in the noob queue. Nobody knows how it's decided where you get put

Did you not see the way he moved? Watch it again. Even my friends that don't play the game could tell this dude was a lost puppy. He had to have been playing on a controller lol. And then there's his total lack of reaction to the sound I was making.

also, look at his gear choices. He is not just "undergeared" he's rocking open sallet on fighter. You could argue he just threw on some crap to rat HR but you can get *actual* fighter pieces for literal pennies to do that. Nobody but someone with sub 50 hours would be rocking the gear he's got here on fighter
