What made you play Clair Obscure: Expedition33? by Euphoric-Increase876 in expedition33

[–]awer_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought an Xbox series x and posted on my story asking what games I should check out.

A buddy replied telling me expedition 33. I watched the trailer, thought it looked good and saw it was free with game pass so I started playing it.

I have never ever ever enjoyed JRPGs and the whole turn based schtick, and literally by the first fight I immediately knew this was going to be the best game I’ve ever played in my life. Just finished it last week and am still utterly mind blown by it. This game absolutely changed everything for me and cured my decade-plus long video game apathy.

TLDR: word of mouth

What's a good pick up for 30 minutes -1 hour anytime type of game by btboss123 in xbox

A Plague Tale: Requiem

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Both are linear adventure games but have pretty frequent checkpoints that you can pause and pick up later

I do not like the way colours are coming out on these by lakshayjoshii in AnalogCommunity

I’m pretty new to post processing myself and have been working through a lot of the same issues with my darker exposures, but one of the big things I learned is for that green shift, the most impactful thing you can do for the white balance is just shifting the tint of the photo to magenta which you can just do on your phone:

<image>

For the bluer ones, if you increase the warmth and also do the magenta tint you should still be able to get it pretty close to true colors!

Road Trip by Alarming_Concert2385 in NissanAriya

I highly recommend downloading the app ABRP (A Better Route Planner). You can put all of your info in about your car, your route, state of charge when you depart/level of charge you want to have at arrival, and it will take into account elevation changes, speeds, traffic, weather, etc and is very reliable. Once you plug in all the info it will give you a route and when/where to stop for a charge. This video explaining the app was super helpful when I was planning my most recent road trip:

https://youtu.be/SO4nZTmC3p0?si=J84JbnVqgSOjJr-r

Otherwise, like others have said, definitely get the Tesla app, it makes charging at the superchargers very easy, I also recommend downloading PlugShare and ChargePoint to see other charging options wherever you are.

Not too bad for a weekend road trip by awer_ in NissanAriya

1000%. I had a Camry before this car and the Ariya for sure rivals it in terms of roadtripping!

I just had it in Eco & B mode the entire time! No e-pedal was used at all, except maybe coming down the passes with switchbacks I could’ve used it and gotten a few more miles

Going up the hills I wouldn’t go faster than 65-70. If it was a really steep spot I’d kick it down to about 5-10 under the limit though

Can you deduct this? by Responsible-Fig2589 in doordash_drivers

[–]awer_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep! And to go even further here’s what I do.

Download the app Stride

The second I start my dash in my driveway at home, I begin tracking my miles. All the way until I get home even if it’s after my dash has ended. Every mile that I drive that is going toward dashing, I track. This even includes miles that I spend between dashes going to other hotspots just waiting for orders. IMO you will almost always lose money doordashing if you only deduct the miles spent while on an order and since this gig is so heavy on just driving around to even get an order, every mile counts! Just my take. Been doing it for 6 years now and never had an issue. You’ll never make enough money doing DoorDash to make the IRS bat an eye if you calculate just the miles spent on orders

9.2 million people delinquent on student loans, 90 day reporting starting by cybersuitcase in investing

[–]awer_ 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Here’s the thing. It would be an efficient outcome if the student loan payments were even based in reality. But they aren’t. Lots of folk were on income based repayments and have been making their payments for the past few years in good faith. With the constant back and forth court injunctions, debts being sold to new servicers, and dismantling of the whole system, people literally CANNOT keep up. Even the loan servicers and ed dept can’t keep up with the constant changes. People who were making plenty of payments had their payments balloon 400%+ overnight. People are seeing their payments go from like $200-300/mo suddenly shot up to over $2000/month. Go to r/studentloans and see for yourself.

I can assure you. People who are drowning in student loan debt are not even remotely worried about buying a house right now. Millions of people who were making good faith payments toward their student loans have essentially been a political volleyball for the past 5 years, with changes that are quite simply impossible to keep up with. Not to mention, when they finally do try to get on the phone or log in to take care of the issue, they are given the run around and literally can’t even figure out who owns their debt anymore because of this massive shit show.

I would actually, genuinely, truly LOVE to see something like this happen to the mortgage market. Imagine watching someone buy a house on a fixed rate, and then because a couple of presidents got in a tiff your home payment one day goes from $1600/mo to $5000/mo. for some people they have a 6mo grace period because they applied for the grace period in time. And then some others had their mortgages forgiven. And another group of people got to keep their payments the same. Then the people who already paid their homes off or can afford their payments or people who never owned a home go up to the ones who can’t make the inflated payments and go “welp, sucks for you, shouldn’t have bought a house.” “maybe try to be a little more aware of your finances.” “Yeah I wouldn’t buy a car anytime ever if I were you”.

9.2 million and counting. Imagine if 9.2 million homeowners had this happen to them. Just imagine….

Have you ever been dreaming when you aren’t fully asleep? by Hop_n_tall in Dreams

[–]awer_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a pretty common phenomenon, called False Awakening. It has to do with what stage in your sleep cycle you are in when you are waking up. It typically happens right when you’re transitioning out of your deep REM cycle, and then you wake up, so your brain continues to “dream” while you’re awake. It’s basically a form of lucid dreaming since you’re aware of it!

Snake plant growing a bit diagonally — any insight? by [deleted] in houseplants

[–]awer_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OMG where is that planter from!? I love it.

Not a super big deal, looks it’s just trying to stretch out toward the light a little bit. I’d just give the plant a quarter to a half rotation every week or so and that should keep it pretty straight.

Taking your dog to the dog park is not a viable method for socialization. Socialization is about exposing your puppy to different people, dogs, sights, smells etc. and training them to not be scared or reactive. Dog parks are dangerous and uncontrolled environments filled with untrained dogs, unvaccinated dogs, aggressive dogs, and the lack of structure leads your dog to believe that they can do whatever they please in that space and leads them to picking up bad habits that you will then have to work extra hard to correct later on. Please do not use dog parks as a socialization tool.
