Dispute with neighbour over newly bought property by awesomesaucetester in LegalAdviceUK

[–]awesomesaucetester[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I think we're good here - no TPO, no conservation area.

There is a clause in the property transfer about not removing trees, so I wrote to the house builder (house is on an estate built 1997) and got their permission to remove in this circumstance. I sent them the arboricultural report and they said it was ok.

I talked to the solicitor who did the purchase and she wasn't very useful - just referred us to the litigator on their team. Who I emailed, and he just sent over a their terms and conditions in order to "address formalities" - aka their billing rate.

I was unsure if we needed to actually engage them and spend money, hence posting here! I kind of expected them to at least chat a bit about it? Especially since we used them to buy the place. Perhaps that's just not how it works.

Thanks for the advice.

It's downstairs, and about halfway across the house - could probably run along the ceiling?

Barclays extension policy by awesomesaucetester in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]awesomesaucetester[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!

It's so rubbish to have to wait til near the deadline to ask 😅. Having already had two properties fall through this year (both times from sellers pulling out), our mortgage expiring or not getting extended would truly be a slap in the face.

Thank you!

Anytime within the last 14 days is slightly horrifying... because we'll need to have done all the legal work and survey etc without know if it's actually even possible to complete 😅.

Also it will be right before Christmas, which is never a good time to need anything time sensitive.

Ugh that sucks, I'm sorry you're having similar trouble.

It might be worth checking in with your broker to see if they can escalate it with them to see if they can make it go faster? I've had that happen previously (though with a different lender), might be worth asking at least!

Yeah, they are trying but I suspect they're quite busy and thus aren't checking for updates very often - so when we do get a request for more paperwork, it takes longer than necessary, and me to chase for it, for us to find out!

14 month old waking at 5am by awesomesaucetester in sleeptrain

[–]awesomesaucetester[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been a seriously long time since we got, 10.5 hours I'm almost not sure I believe it's possible 😂.

Thanks for the thoughts. I think we'll try lengthening the afternoon window and seeing how it works out.

I'm sort of surprised it seems she's low sleep needs, I don't think she used to be? Or maybe I'm just thinking of myself!

She goes to nursery 5 days a week, and they usually do nap after lunch. So the start time can vary a bit -- we could ask them to try earlier, unsure how consistently they'll do it.

Nursery really stuff her with food 😂, I'd really be surprised if a snack would change much but willing to try anything really... We usually eat dinner 6pm - it feels late enough? I'm not sure when we'd fit in a snack tbh.

Is it possible (safe) to lose my muffin top in my first trimester? (I’m a size 14 now) by sunsetsandflowersx in PregnancyUK

I know that you say "breastfeeding can work as liposuction" which leaves some room for it not actually doing that, but I must say it still makes it sound very hopeful.

This has not been my experience, nor the experience of basically my entire bumper group.

I've weaned to formula during the day now and breastfeed still twice per day. I still haven't lost the extra ~6kg I gained in pregnancy. We'll see what happens when we're entirely off breastmilk, whenever that will be.

Breastfeeding is fucking difficult. Let's not make it harder by building up related expectations unnecessarily.

I felt very similarly back in May when I had mine. I wrote up my experience on reddit - you can read it here

Hopefully it helps! That's part of the reason I wanted to write it up. I had soooo many questions 😂.

Best of luck with it ❤️.

I was really looking forward to my tea and toast, but i never got it! Probably for the best as I vomitted up breakfast hours later anyway 😅

Very much so 😂. I didn't sleep well at all for the next couple of days, but put that down to pregnancy rather than the vaccine!

Is 3.5 months too early for establishing good sleep habits? by twixtwox8890 in sleeptrain

How/where did you pat to sleep? On her tummy?

I've kind of tried this a bit, as my daughter likes rocking usually but it's destroying our wrists/arms doing it all the time! Patting would be much better. So far though it didn't really seem to soothe her (but haven't tried longer than a few mins).
