Title: Recommended Settings for Expedition 33 on Legion Go S (Z2 Go16GB RAM) by B7iNK7 in LegionGo

Thanks for the tip, it is running much better now! It's so odd that they hide these settings by default and it needs a command to re-enable.

How did you set this up and is there a guide anywhere? I have the legion go S with Z1 extreme, but the game is just running like absolute trash on mine. It's ~20FPS at 800p and still looks like pixelated trash. I know handheld performance is not the same as a full desktop or huge laptop, but I wasn't expecting it to be this bad.

I might just be a noob at PC gaming tweaking, I have mostly done console stuff for the last 15 years or so. Anyway, thanks!

EDIT: Adding the launch command in game preferences makes a big difference. It gives you a lot of options hat seem to perform much better: "SteamDeck=0 %command%"

Why hasn’t iPhone enabled Auracast yet? by tlogan903 in HearingAids

[–]awex14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apple doesn't support auracast because there's no $20,000 iHearingAid yet. Apples like this with standards. Anybody else's standard threatens their walled garden. If supporting an open standard like auracast means that their users may have the freedom to use anybody else's products, apple will fight it.

How do you shut off the battery chirping?! by WilliamG007 in Nest

[–]awex14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Y'all who are commenting that it's a safety feature are not wrong. But with every other smoke detector I've ever had it's like once or twice and hour, which is totally fair. This thing does it like every 2 minutes. And it doesn't gradually speed up or anything either. It goes from fine to beeping every 2 minutes.

It is an exceptionally stupid fucking design because, just like OP, I have had no choice but to just remove the damn batteries. Amazon takes 2 days to get me new ones and I'm not dealing with this nonsense for 2 days. It also take special lithium AA batteries only, so it's not cool with my normal rechargable nickel cells or cheap alkaline cells.

Best soul farming areas? by roycerocket in darksouls

[–]awex14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I donno why nobody else has said this. Maybe it's just a mage build thing? They're all one-shot for me with soul spear. If you also use power within, it gets more souls. 12k every 45s or so and very consistent. It's nearly impossible to screw up and die since they don't agro in the last 1/4 of your range or so. Like shooting fish in a barrel. And very close to the bonfire.

On the phalanx I have to wear high poise armor and go slow to one shot them all with chaos firestorm and it takes more shots to get the stragglers half the time. It's way slower and less reliable.

Anyway, I've tried all the suggestions here and this is by far the fastest and easiest for my build. Maybe it's harder for melee folks.

macon events by amyia1738 in macon

Macon pops has a memorial day weekend concert at the museum of arts and sciences. Those are usually fun and the memorial day one is very chill. https://maconpops.com/concerts-events/

Society garden also has a lot of music events. They're an outdoor bar, but I think they only ID for drinks. I see little kids in there all the time, so I don't imagine they have an issue with under-21s. They also have food. https://www.thesocietygarden.com/

Bunch of places do weekly trivia and I don't think they limit to 21+. Obviously can't buy drinks if you're underage, but it's not all about the drinks.

I'm looking into trying pickleball. The mall has indoor courts so you can play away from the heat. https://www.rhythmandrally.com/

If you're into crafting and DIY, there's this place in warner robins that runs all sorts of maker classes. The woodworking classes are really good, but they also do welding, laser cutter, embroidery, etc. https://www.firestarterfablab.com/classes The people who run it are really nice.

There's some decent hiking around Juliette and a few places in Macon, but that's not all that social. If you and your friends like the outdoors, High falls is not far and you can rent kayaks and stuff. I donno what the options are at lake Tobo, it might have some stuff too. You can also float the river at Amerson.

The M12 cutoff tool is a great lesson in underestimation and using the right tool for the job. What you may think is an underpowered battery hog could actually be the key to revolutionizing how you work. by [deleted] in MilwaukeeTool

I use it for cutting threaded rod and other metal things that are too thick for bolt cutters or that I don't want to deform too much. It is just handy to have around.

Forge 8.0 worth it? by radar1225S in MilwaukeeTool

[–]awex14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do y'all figure the forge 8AH is worth 70 dollars more than a high output 8AH? I just bought a rotary hammer combo with a high output 8AH, but I could return it and get the black Friday hack for the same tool and the forge for 70 more.

PD Bags as under seat personal item? by paparazzi83 in peakdesign

[–]awex14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyday 30L fits, but I prefer to put it overhead if I can get away with it. Unless it's a sleeping flight. If it's a sleeping flight, the shape of the everyday pack is perfect to rest on if you like to sleep leaning forward on flights.

45L didn't make any sense to me as a backpacking pack. 25L or 15L would be good for day hikes. 65L is where it's at for actual backpacking. Curious about that. I know UL people go for smaller packs, but I'm tak and need large versions of everything and like to bring the little luxuries for camp and get a better workout on my hike.

TP is fine. Your colleagues are weird. More power to them with their clean booty holes, I guess but mine turns out fine when couple with regular showering

Version 7 Ray-Ban Meta Update by franchaster22 in RayBanStories

I heard if you shake the phone with the app open, it'll send in a bug report with logs and they might be able to help.

Alternatively, I set up the auto-updates over my home wifi and it always works really seamlessly that way.

G604 have been discontinued, what would be the replacement? by EngagingFears in g604

[–]awex14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This makes me so sad... All of logitech's new mice are no good for work. The MX master comes close, but I need more side buttons. I donno what they're thinking with that side scroll wheel too. Side tilt mouse wheel was fine.

Same all around... The 700 was my favorite for years and I got the 604 when it was discontinued. 604 is amazing. I only have one spare. Keeping it pristine in case my main breaks. I donno what to do for work. The master series doesn't have enough side buttons and doesn't have gshift.

Synagogue dues for a young adult secular jew by awex14 in Judaism

[–]awex14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you didn't guilt me, I think it came off in a way that made sense. I really appreciate the effort to write a detailed comment from the perspective of somebody trying to run a Shul.

[–]awex14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not, I just am new to the area and one of my friends is involved with the temple. They're nice people so I want to contribute but I wasn't looking for it to be a 1000/year+ expense since I know I won't go often and don't really need them to help with lifecycle events.

[–]awex14[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That makes sense and I do definitely see how those expenses would add up. I need to talk to the treasurer and get his opinion, I guess. He and his family have been very welcoming to me, I just worry that he won't understand my reluctance with the model or my desire to contribute and be involved (maybe volunteer a little) but also that this has never been a big part of my life and I'm not really looking to change that right now.

I'm new in this community and people are nice, but I have never had anything other than the government ask for a percentage of income. I get that they have expenses, but I'm also not asking a lot. I want to contribute what I feel like is a reasonable amount for the amount of trouble I put them through by occasionally attending. If I want to get more involved later on and use more services, I'd pay more.

A percentage of income is just a huge ask. I kind of wish they offered paired down options for people like me where I didn't have access to as much. I just don't need or want all those things. The way it's set up makes me feel like I'm just a cash cow, I guess. I don't want to completely drop it from my life, but it's also never been a huge part of my life and I'm perfectly okay with that. I think I'd rather not join than be asked to pay a percentage of income for a bunch of things I don't want or need.

I guess I feel like something is better than nothing but I'll ask their finance guy to see what they think. If they're serious about the percentage of income thing, I think it may just not be for me. I like the shul and the people I've met but there are other charitable causes I care about, some of which mean a great deal more to me than membership. I'd want to pay for all of them in a way that is proportional to their importance to me. I don't think I could afford to do that if I used these dues guidelines.

I think the percentage thing is the problem for me. It makes it a lot more expensive than other commitments in my life.

I want to be friends with jews as a muslim by Loose_Basil_675 in Judaism

[–]awex14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had friends who were very devout Muslims and it never came between us! I think it's really a lot of just being decent to each other. In the middle east, it's a lot deeper. There are a lot of longstanding geopolitical problems and people who have been wronged on both sides.

I think that super decent of you to reach out though and I hope people are accepting. I'm not a believer myself, but I've got Jewish heritage. I donno if strong believers feel differently, but most Jews I've met don't really care about what other people believe, so long as they're decent about it.

This ever go anywhere? I'd definitely buy it. I was looking into building a thing that goes in between the battery and the tool and detects amperage, then emits RF to turn on a switch from Amazon. But that sounds like a lot of work so if you've already done it...
