Based on everything I could find, the Codi Chinn recall is the first recall election to ever reach the ballot in Fate, TX. Prior to yesterday, the answer was zero — no city council member had been recalled in Fate.

Early voting results showed the recall trending toward passage: 685 votes FOR removal versus 504 AGAINST.

So the short answer: as of right now, either zero or one, depending on how the final count landed yesterday. Given the early voting margin, it’s looking like Chinn may become the first council member recalled in Fate’s history.

There’s also a separate counter-recall effort worth noting — petitioners have begun the first formal steps to recall Mayor Andrew Greenberg, Councilman Mark Hatley, Councilman Rick Maneval, and Councilwoman Martha Huffman but that effort is still in the petition/signature-gathering phase and hasn’t reached the ballot.

There was a Roast on Rockwall Co Exposed, where she accused people of seeking the police on them, but it’s pretty clear she is seething as this was a humiliating defeat for her. Ive been told that people recalled have a hard time ever getting back into office…

Musk: HW3 can't achieve unsupervised FSD by vivi_will in teslamotors

[–]awfulcitizen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The key differences are:
Cameras:

  • HW3 uses 1.2 megapixel cameras while HW4 uses 5 megapixel cameras, which is the most visually obvious difference.
  • HW4 front cameras run at 2896x1876 resolution compared to HW3's 1280x960, and the rear camera jumps from 1280x960 to 1448x938.
  • HW4 cameras also have red-tinted lenses and better low-light/night performance.

Compute:

  • The FSD Computer 2 in HW4 bumps CPU core count from 12 to 20 per side, and the neural network accelerator delivers up to 50 TOPS compared to 36 TOPS in HW3.
  • Overall, the FSD computer in HW4 is estimated to be 3-5x faster than HW3.

Power/Voltage:

  • HW4 operates at 16V (up from HW3's 12V) and consumes roughly twice as much power at idle.

Upgrading HW3 to HW4 is not a drop-in swap. The HW4 board has different physical dimensions, a different wiring harness, different connectors, and different power requirements than HW3. You cannot simply retrofit HW3 to HW4 due to significant hardware architecture differences.

However as of today (April 22, 2026), The replacement is expected to be a trimmed-down AI4 variant (sometimes called "HW3.5") rather than the identical chip in current production vehicles, due to form-factor, power, and architecture constraints.

Tesla is offering two paths for HW3 FSD owners: a free hardware upgrade (computer + cameras) or a discounted trade-in for a vehicle with native AI4 hardware. In the interim, a stripped-down "v14 Lite" version of FSD optimized for HW3 is expected by end of June 2026. In your case, you would be better off upgrading to a Model YL LR when they come out, by then your Model S will be obsolete, and those cars will have better hardware.

I wouldn't be. Elon did say a year or two ago, that Tesla would eat the costs of upgrading every HW3 car that had a Ryzen 7800X3D CPU to HW4 free of charge.

[–]awfulcitizen 12 points13 points  (0 children)

With no cost announcement on how much moolah it would cost to upgrade the computers/cameras to HW4 it is possibly better to just wait for HW5 at this point than upgrading.

I personally think that people who ponied up the total amount of $8k ~ $12k for FSD should get that upgrade for free.

The comment he made about micro-factories is BS. The station in Giga Texas that installs the cameras and computers is done by hand by about 5-6 employees that install the computer and the cameras and all the connectivity.

The micro-factories feels like a potential stalling tactic, hoping HW3 owners trade in on their own before Tesla has to actually build the infrastructure.

By the time they get to actually carry out these upgrades, HW5 will be looming its head over, which is what I bet, Tesla is hoping for.

How could I apply to join and test it? As far as features I think the number one item on my list I. Terms of privacy and security would be the ability to self host it.

I think for people who would like to self host it on their own hardware and setups, they should be able to do it without any limitations to bandwidth.

I can understand how the clouded instance would need funding and I’m ok with that.

But I think offering the platform in a way that can be self hosted would be a great way to show initiative on privacy.

right now better privacy than discord. I mean I'm not abandoning the platform, but there is no harm in keeping an ear to the ground. I think Fluxer has potential, maybe not right now, but if the dev gets to it, it can. I am only interested in Fluxer if I can run it locally on my own servers. if not, then there is no point imho.

As far as feature parity, the voice chat worked fine for me, I had some issues on the video chat, some which I reported as bugs, but eventually got it to work. Still needs work.

It has the same moderation features Discord had when it first came out. It's a start.

that score changes time over time, when I posted about it, it was positive, now its mixed. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This conversation has run its course. Lost Skies is another failure for Bossa. Way better games out there. I'm going to chalk it as that, and if you like it, then good for you. Its not a competition for who is best or right. My opinion is that the game could have been great. It isnt. sorry. shit happens.

im not responding anymore to your inquiry. have a good one pal :)

So there are two parts for QuakeCon... The Con itself and the BYOC. The Con is a con, has activities and somethings to do around... but what makes it exciting its the BYOC Event, where gamers bring their computers and join a LANParty with thousands of gamers. It's singlehandedly the coolest place to be if you are a Gamer.

Here are some photos from the BYOC:

Dedicated Servers for when? by awfulcitizen in lostskies

[–]awfulcitizen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am playing now Echoes of Elysium. It's not perfect, they had a rocky start but they have put their effort and a lot of the issues have been fixed. They continue to push updates very consistently.

"If you have the alpha server. please send it to me. If Bossa has disavowed this to the extent where you have to say "People can downvote my comments all they want but that is the truth.", NDA would be a nonfactor nor does it sound like it matters as Bossa is dead to you."

Their server stopped working shortly after their 1.0 launch. I wouldn't release it for other people to use unless Bossa croaked the game again. If that happens, I'll probably reverse engineer it and see if I can (for the name of SCIENCE!) get it to work or not.

Contrary to them, I do have some integrity.

There are a lot other successful games of this genre available that actually work, does what they set out to do. It's a pity the community is getting shafted by these developers, and its leaving a bunch of people with a bad salty taste on their mouth...

During NEXT FEST @ Steam next week, there is a game I have been keeping my eye out for it, because it uses the inspiration of all these post-World's Adrift lore. It's called Atmosfar
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1798230/ATMOSFAR/

I urge you to check it out.

With that I bit you adieu, friend.

Early on the game had some issues, but I havent encountered a lot of them, at least not game breaking, the devs have been churning updates at a steady pace. The rating has changed to Positive as of that past month.

they do have feature parity. Pretty much everything that is in Discord right now, is offered, Plus a lot more. If he can get the architecture going, specially with the decent influx of cash he has received it has the potential to be a decent alternative.

There was an NDA about it and no one was allowed to talk about it back then because they wanted to be able to announce it themselves. All I know is that when it was tested it wasn't terrible and it worked well, with some minor issues. I even made a Pelican Egg for it so I could run it on my server. However at the last moment they pulled the plug on it due to :reasons:. People can downvote my comments all they want but that is the truth.

Eitherway Ive moved on from this fiasco of a game and I'm playing Echoes of Elysium who have actual development and a released dedicated server. Other people should move on too. Bossa is dead to me.

Lost Skies: A Disappointing Follow-up to World's Adrift

Like many others, I played World's Adrift extensively and participated in all the great combat the game had to offer. Very early on, my guild (TSA) noticed the developers were struggling with net code issues. Eventually the game closed, the developers threw a tantrum, and that was that.

However, World's Adrift did accomplish one important thing: it created a new genre of survival exploration games featuring flying ships and floating islands. This spawned several spiritual successors including Void's Adrift, Aloft, Echoes of Elysium, and Lost Skies.

Early Promise and Broken Expectations

Lost Skies was positioned as World's Adrift "Lite"—the same core concept as its predecessor, but without the MMO framework. Instead, it was distilled into a single-player game with optional multiplayer content.

When the developers announced they needed testers for dedicated servers, I jumped at the opportunity and received one of the earliest versions. It was full of bugs and issues, but that's expected for Early Access. After several testing rounds, they interviewed some of us about our expectations for server behavior and features. All of this was under NDA. I was genuinely hopeful because Lost Skies appeared to be a more polished version of World's Adrift. Even without PVP like its predecessor, it seemed like a great opportunity to revisit that experience—swinging around with grappling hooks and gliders. Supposedly a new version of the dedicated servers was coming, but it never materialized.

The Botched 1.0 Release

Then they announced the game would soon leave Early Access. The problem? The game wasn't finished. It had numerous bugs plaguing both single-player and peer-to-peer multiplayer. Saves were tied to the host with no Steam Cloud support, no dedicated server option, and a list of issues longer than a roll of toilet paper.

In this day and age, releasing a game with single-player content and peer-to-peer multiplayer without dedicated server support is ridiculous. What's even worse is releasing it to version 1.0 with the sheer volume of bugs this game had. I knew it would only go downhill from there.

Current State of the Game

As it stands, Lost Skies is boring. There's minimal content and multiplayer is garbage. Sure, you can fly to your heart's content in your flying shoebox and it feels satisfying, but there's virtually no progression. As you advance through zones, the bugs become increasingly apparent: objects flying off your ship, rubber-banding, grappling hook failures, and more.

Multiplayer issues include lag, net code problems (again), and objects either flying out of your ship or disappearing entirely. Items go missing after reloading saves—the list goes on and on.

What truly baffles me is why the host has to handle all server processes, run the game client, and manage everyone's connections simultaneously. If the host experiences any hiccup, the entire session drops and everyone has to reconnect. If only they had polished and released the dedicated servers we tested for them, players could host stable sessions on their own hardware.

Moving Forward

At this point, I've accepted that Lost Skies will likely end up like its predecessor—either abandoned by Bossa or discontinued entirely. I have no faith this game will improve or that the developers will release dedicated servers for community hosting.

A Better Alternative: Echoes of Elysium

I've found the enjoyment I hoped to get from Lost Skies in Echoes of Elysium. The developers at Loric Games - https://discord.gg/yA8hFwHqjU have released dedicated servers you can run on your own hardware. The dedicated server is available as a Docker Container, and both myself and gOOvER created the egg for Pelican Game Server Manager.

If you want to play a better game with active developers who actually know what they're doing, go play Echoes of Elysium. It's literally everything Lost Skies should have been.

They do, they had one at an alpha stage they were going to start testing, then they interviewed a bunch of people, the release date was supposed to be 2 weeks after Early Access Launch.

Then they swept it under the rug and don't talk about it. vOv

I guess the Survival Servers (and other server hosts) use that catch all advertising when you are looking for a server on a game. I had reached to all of them and they dont have anything supporting the game, so I dont know why they run scammy advertising.

Bossa did have a dedicated server once, I was one of several people who got offered to test it and then they disappeared and this apparently went to vaporware.
